Is this normal?

I got a 09 TC with about 4k miles on it. This has happened 2 or 3 times. When I drive home from work in the rain and get home and park. The next morning when I back out of the parking lot there is a loud noise comming from the rear of the car. It goes awey withing ten feet of backing up. I'm not sure if its the rear breaks sticking or what. It only does this after driving in the rain and the car sits over night. Any insight would be helpfull.

Yeah that's pretty normal stuff..it'll sound like a light grinding I'm assuming? Take a look at how rusty your rotors are the morning after it rains...mine get rusted over pretty quickly but coming to a stop once or twice gets rid of it all.

Thats what i figured. It's a really loud ugly noise. Oh, and it does it without me pushing on the break. forgot to add that tidbit.

Yeah the rust bubble and stuff build up pretty quick and pretty thick at that...and with how close the pads run to the calipers on these things...it'll do that. Try this:

With your car off...pull the ebrake up as hard as you can and hold it there, Then pump the brake pedal about 7 or 8 times, then put the ebrake all the way down and repeat the process once more. The E-brakes on these things are awful and it usually tightens everything up and resets it all when you do that. Mine used to not hold at all and was very loose. This method solved that problem and my ebrake is pretty much fully engaged by 3 clicks now and I rarely get that grinding noise you speak of anymore.

Thanks man, I will give that a try. Also I'm thinking about looking at the lube points.

It's the rotor's rusting over night......My old SS/SC did it and the TC is just as bad. And my cars sit in the garage and it doesn't help it/
