Officially Confused...

Ok so I've been reading around here for weeks and signed up last week because I was wanting the SS/TC and looking into it trying to learn more about it. I was waiting for my car dealers to get in an 08 SS/TC and so far none have. I then read a comment saying that they were done selling them or ordering them or something along those lines. My question is what exactly is happening with them? I was so excited to get one but now it's looking like I might have to wait till the 09's come out which I have no idea when that is going to be.

Just looking for some official answers and things because all these topics lead to different answers but the same questions

OMFG! Noobs! Sorry I'm drunk.

I just read a thread talking about this.

Type this "SS/TC" in the search feature.

Well yea I've read pretty much everything, again, pretty much everything but not all.

Yea, I did read a thread talking about this, and people said different things which "officially confused" me hence why I started this topic to try and get unconfused, if that makes any sense?

I'm just wondering if I should wait till my dealership hopefully gets one in or save up more money for the down payment on the 09...

I did answer it with being a smart ass about it. It has been recently discussed. Typing that in will bring up a lot, but the most recent which gives him the answer is right there at the top.

That's like me asking how much oil does the 2.2L hold. Same response. It's been discussed use the search feature.

WOW! Freaking 2 secs for a search. <-- Not to maker of thread.

To maker of thread here's a recent thread on the shipment from manufacturing plant(even though looks like you already read it). https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show...t=SS%2FTC+news

God wish the real world was this easy to get ****. Yes I am in a ill mood.

Honestly message boards are almost worse than nothing at all. .net is good though the trash posts are kept to a minimum and hopefully the information threads are watched closely.

Best bet is just to search here...can't find it search google.

That is all well and good , but you also have to remember that we all were new to css.net at one time or another . It's better to give them some help rather than make them feel dumb. Me .... i lurked for a good 6 months before i even joined .

I gave up on reading this thread about 2 posts down. So I'll just give you the answer as best I can..

The 08's are done for orders. You cannot place a new order for an 08 at this point. If a local dealer of yours has placed an order on one, you should see it show up in the next 1-3 weeks.
If you are wanting to have one made to order. The 09's will start production at the end of June, probably the last week of June, once the final 08s are off the line. You can expect to see some 09's rolling into lots some time in August.

Keep in mind, there was a production hold on the 08s, as well as a shipping stop. All the cars were put back through QA to ensure the turbo's don't fail a few miles on the road. There have been reports of several cars experiencing this.

Unfortunately, most dealers don't have a clue about it, and neither do most people. Everyone has their own "story" about why delivery has been delayed (beleive mine if you choose too, i won't defend it). The fact remains, that any car not on a moving train as of a few days ago has been stopped until the can all be examined and then shipping will resume.

To the OP, wait for the 09!
That way you can get that new fangled programable performance display which looks like it will be the $hit!

Also, you can get it exactly the way you want it.

I wouldn't buy a 09 unless it was made from Nov 08 or later.

I always give new cars a waiting period. Only reason I bought my early 06 was because I drove my moms new 05 for awhile. Couldn't get a SS/SC in what I wanted. No 2.4s were in the area w/ a manual. My LS was 300 miles away the dealership had to go get it for me. Then at 36K the ECU was acting up. 38K got slammed into a bridge. Pissed me off lol, but honestly I was glad it got wrecked.

I am still wanting a Cobalt, but I am not sure right now. I'd have to wait for the 07s to come down in price and my credit gets back up. Don't know though by that time I would have saved enough to make my mazda faster than the cobalt ss/tc, but you cant beat those looks.

I wish someone would wreck mine.
With no injuries of course.
I wont commit insurance fraud, but I mean to tell you if it got totalled, I wouldnt argue.

I have only been told that mine has been put on hold (again). The dealer assured me it would ship this week but I have a feeling it will not be shipping. MAJ, any idea on what kind of a time frame we are looking at here before they resume?
