Oil Catch can

Hey there are a bunch of AUDI and VW guys with their 2.0Ts getting oil catch cans that vent into the atmosphere (so watervapor doesnt condense and freeze in winter), and I was wondering if anyone here has installed one or decided not to for various reasons.

Oil catch cans are there to catch condensed crakcase vapors released from the PCV valve before they get into the engine

I'm working on a setup for my car now utilizing russel 3/8" push on fuel fittings -> -6 to replace the stock lines, but I'll be using a sealed catch can. Best to use sealed and baffled can on a car like ours IMO or you're effectivly introducing an air leak into the system. Especially since both of the OEM breather lines are after MAF.

Many might not agree, but after having my charge pipes off I feel like a catch can is needed on my car. Quite a bit of crapola was inside there.

The catch can purpose is to collect oil splatted through the PVC system to prevent it from entering the intake system. that vapors will still be routed into the intake after it passes through the can and be burnt in the combustion chamber. Strickly rerouted for emission purposes. can be vented to atmoshpere. but the can's purpose is to stop oil from entering the intake system or if you venting it to atmosphere to prevent a oily mess under hood. you more less will see the oil through the pvc system when in the higher rpm range.
