EVAP solenoid needs to get fixed? Its the thingy that vents your gas tank or something like that... Someone else might know better than me.

I got 455 and 497 this past week. I actually heard the system make noise by the rear tank.

"Check Gas Cap" came up

I cleared the code and it never came back.

This??
Pics included.

My purge valve solenoid went bad. You can disconnect it but I just replaced it. ~$40. Only one bolt, very very easy. It IS POSSIBLE that it can also give you a gas cap error. Mine did when it was disconnected.

I think we're talking about three different things:

1) The Evap Purge Solenoid is the valve in the engine bay that controls how much fuel vapor the engine takes in while you're driving it around.

2) The Evap Vent Solenoid is a valve on the canister itself under the car in the back that allows the car's fuel tank to "breathe"/equilize when you're driving or filling up on gas.

3) There's also a Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor on the canister too, that monitors any changes in pressure.

I'm not familiar with the code itself, but according to the code's description it sounds to me like part #3 is circling the drain.

I agree. OP, do you have any way to monitor fuel trims to see if you are having issues while driving. That might rule out #1

I am having problems with either 2 or 3. OP, are you having long starts or issues after filling up or anything?
