Performance advise / questions for TC SS...

I have an '09 Cobalt SS w/ the GM stage 1 & wanted to know what my performance options were. No other mods at the moment but I'm installing Pedders springs when they get delivered.

This is my daily driver & I'm not going to drag race the car but I might do some track days in the future. What I like about the stage 1 is that it broadened the already high strenghts of this engine without sacrificing driveability or reliability. I'm not interested in buzzy, loud or peaky power nor turning the car into a time bomb.

Can the above be achieved & if so what kind of gains can I expect?

Thank you.

Stick with GMS1 for power and concentrate on suspension for the track. Consiider Powell stuff, money well spent!

So are you planning on staying gms1? The first thing to get is a catless downpipe, don't bother with an intake if your not going to get a tune.

A tune on top of the GMS1 will really wake it up. You can still have the same driveability and the same reliability (as long as you don't floor it everywhere you go) and make a lot more power than you are now.

A catless dp or even a high flow dp will help a lot, too. Usually the first mods are intake, dp and a tune = 300+ WHP.

If keeping your warranty is your main concern, then leave the car as is and enjoy

Yeah, I just recently did a Trifecta tune over my GMS1 and I love it! Doing the GMS1 made the car a whole other beast compared to stock, and then once again doing the Trifecta made it a whole other animal! lol I also have a catless DP and SRI. Car is perfect now in my opinion!

GMS1 was perfect depending on the track.....however higher speed tracks gonna require some more oompff if you wanna hang with the big boys...but yeah i would focus on suspension work
