power windows

Does anyone have any idea why the passenger side window takes so long to open compared to drivers side? Is gm so dumb to use a weaker motor for the passenger window maybe? I guess its not that big of a deal but I just wonder

Mine does it too. Not sure why they made it that way though. I too wish that the passenger window as well as the sunroof had an auto open feature but I am guessing it would be a pain to retrofit it.

The auto switch is just the switch you can swap it out with that switch from gm ...it's the same electronics all housed in the switch it self ... costs like 3-5 bucks more .

On almost all power window cars, the pass side is slower on the drivers side. On all 4 of my cars its like that. 86 T-Type, 01 Camaro SS, 06 Silverado Z71 and the 08 Cobalt SS.

Every car I've owned has been this way. IDK why though....

I had a 95 Grand Am that was the worst. The Pass. window took forever it seemed. But, I had that car a Looooooooong time and both window motors went out at the same time.

Could it be built in for child safety or something? IDK...

One thing I miss about my Acura is it had auto down and up both... that was sweet.

Our 08 civic is like that I was just driving it the other day and was like HMMM thats weird cause my balt doesn't auto up but I don't like the auto up cause If I am smokin a cig I hate to screw with the window cause the freaking switch has a mind of its own.

I've got aftermarket windows and it's the same way with them. It's pretty funny when I'm waiting for my passenger side window to go down and I have other people in the car. I just look at them and say "It's a little slow." All the windows in our 4 door Blazer are pretty snappy though.

I'm not having problems with it. I just want it to have an auto open feature! Thanks for the offer though. I am sure that I will end up needing your advice before its over with the record that these sunroofs have.

My 05 Scion tC had that on both sides. It was a nice feature. Still glad I don't own the car anymore though.

Just curious what kinda fuel economy you got with that car...?

</hijack>

My pass side window is also slower. Good to know it's not an isolated incident.... My SRT-4 is the same way; but all three Foci I owned were dead even. It's prolly a manufacturing characteristic, rather than defect...

23-26 mostly highway depending on the season. It was supercharged. The Cobalt SS/TC has been getting 28ish with the same driving.

My pass side is a little slower too which bugged me at 1st. I'd roll the windows up that the same time and stop when the drivers side was up only to look over and see the pass side was still down about 2". They were even in the Scion.
