Progress of 2008 Turbo

I was told today the factory has accepted my order for production and has picked it to be made. I will hopefully have a vin soon, so those of you who are trying to get a grill can use this vin, also the invoice will be in soon so i can give all pricing from wholesale to gms to supplier. Any one else now their status?

first day of production for the vehicles, you should feel good knowing the workers will take extra long on your car (although they won't have the system down yet)

my ss/tc is also ordered and iwas told it would be put into production april 7th as well. i was told to expect it to hit the dealer either the last week of april or 1st week of may. i wouldn't expect there to be any issues with car even though its gonna be from the first batch built. i'm sure they worked out the kinks of the process while they were finishing up the testers. and if anything can you say class-action lawsuit?

Not really, thats what a warranty is for. When you look at warranty data by month the first few months of a new engine always have the highest frequency and cost. However, those problems will likely manifest themselves in under 5yrs/100k mi so you will be covered.

Yeah they said they are making sellable units as of march 31st and have been practing pretty sure there won't be any problems and as far as engine issue cause the LNF has been out for a while now. But like it was said that is what warranty is for. And i am a service tech so i wouldn't be happy to be fixing my own car!

Any chance you will be taking it to PIR this summer?

I work across the street from a chevy dealer and i want the new TC soo bad. But im still in college and wont have money for a while.

It would be cool to see one in person and especially see it racing.

I just called my dealership & they said 30 days until they get 3 SS/TC's in.

The guy I was talking to was going to pick up 1, and I'm picking up another...

They are getting 2 Blacks, & 1 Silver.

So i was talking to my sales manager today and he checked the status of my car, and he said gm told him that it won't be built until MAY 26th!!!!!!! I ordered my car on march 13th and it was accepted on that date. They are saying they have to much demand for the amount of supplies at the factory so the they aren't producing as many. All i can say is that if a dealer gets one of these cars soon they will not go for MSRP. Ohh and just a reminder i got a target production date of april 7th thru the 13th, now it is may 26th.

Yeah i was tracking on dealerworld as well but decided to call gm and they can tell you a date it will be built because it just told me event code 3000 (accepted by production) and i got the date, it will never update until they actually build it i believe. so i would give dealerworld a call they can tell you.
