PTE Turbo swap

Hi all,
I want to swap my 5557PTE with a 5858PTE. I have the Pwerks 5557 kit and it has the mid-lenght tubular manifold with the V-band. Is it possible or I need a different manifold?
Thank you guys all.
Christian

you should be fine long as the new turbo has the same flange.

Good. Any idea about the spooling time difference? I spool at about 4k right now. But I also have to say that I'm looking for this turbo because I want to build my engine, which it means I'll get the zzp ported head with the cams and the fuel lobe, the 5th injector and I'll probably get the motor with the 2.1 setup, so I hope all these things will help me to spool a little sooner. That is also the reason why I don't think about going bigger than 5858, because if there was a way to keep the spool at 4k I would go 6262

Havent installed my turbo to give you a more accurate spool time with BUILT motor, but from wut FF Ace is saying that pretty damn gud depending on where you set your rev limit at.

I think I saw on a thread recently that someone was talking about a quick spool valve on a 5857, that gives you almost the spool on the stock

QSV will not work on your turbo, The QSV need s twin scroll hotside which we do not have and most exhaust mani are T3 not T4 twin scroll for our cars, i was asking bout that in a thread and got a answer back from TH motorsports. its fine by me dont want to be replacing tires to often anyway.

The turbo outlet doesn't matter. Just the exhaust inlet which is t3 on your turbo. The ops turbo however is vband exhaust inlet.

so how much power are you putting down with your current set-up?
how much do you want for that turbo when you swap it?

and just to talk about your goals, tune has a lot to do with power and driveability, so hopefully you have a reputable hp tuner helping you get the right spool time and maximizing what you have.

Yes, for his precision 5557e...lol

a new one is the 5558e and its only 899 on treadstone, then the treadstone kit is 1750,so just curious.

was trying to see if i can do a setup for around the same price as the pwerks wr-2...
Onna try and get this turbo swap done by january, so i'm on the look out...haha

Not sure yet, because I will swap the turbo when I build the motor. The tune will be done by the company that will do my build. I don't know about my 5557, I don't know if I'll sell it or keep it for my other SS. Right now I put down about 410whp.

Okay, well let me know. 410whp must be a mild tune with that turbo??? It should be able to do 450whp right?

No, the thing is that after 420-425, the car was having fuel problems, so he had to keep it at around 410-415. I honestly believe that the tune wasn't done really properly, but a lot of things went wrong with the install anyway, and I was able to get my car back after 10 months because of a few mistake the mechanic made. That's why, no more local tuner. When I get my engine build by, for example zzp, I'm shipping them the car and I will let them do the whole job. At least I know that I will get my car back on time and with the performance that it should have

^^^ makes since im not 100% sure but i think fross b maybe running a 5557, u can ask him for opinions on it, fueling is always a issue with the lnf i'll be running the 5th injector kit myself for added security, if you want 450 range ther 256et is a beast from wut i been getting reviews on but once again u should go a lil bigger then ur goal so your not maxing the turbo and u can use less boost to get ur goal, you could always buy Cmillers 6262 lol big boy toy!!!

I was thinking about those bigger turbo, but I'm already spooling at 4k rpms, I don't want to spool much higher. With the 6262 who knows what the spool will be. I'm already concerned about it for the 5858.
When I build my engine, I will get the 700hp fuel pump of Werks, zzp cams with fuel lobe, 5th injector and anything else that helps the fuel. Would the TTR intake manifold help with that as well?

i bet with the cam with large fuel lobes and a good tune by james/ or term or o9cs1 you would be golden. in fact you said zzp, so get their cam and have matt tune it...i bet you would be good to go man. aggressive with a good boost ramp and like 27-28psi
