question
When I first test drove a Cobalt SS/TC I ended up being the first car at the light so I asked the salesman in the back seat if he minded if I planted my foot when I took off to see how the launch and power was. Well.. I was embarrassed to hell as I spun through the whole intersection. I later went and bought a 2009 Black SS/TC as I wasn't fond of the yellow one I test drove.
I can smoke the tires easily on launch without even popping the clutch at 8000rpm like others have suggested and now the tires let loose at WOT in second since I got the Trifecta dual tune.
As much as I like the Camaro I would go for the new 2011 Mustang GT with the 5.0 as they have really bumped up the power and you can't go wrong with the Ford V8 powerplant. Hell the 2011 V6 will have over 300hp!!! Mustangs mods are a little cheaper and the dash and interior is slightly higher quality over the Camaro.

Sounds good, I'm a huge fan of camaro its the dream car. Only thing was the dealership was superly gay and wanted to give me a payment of 850. I was like yeah that ain't going 2 happen. But now that the mustang is a bit faster I'm torn between 2 worlds.
I got to beat on a 2011 5.0 the other day, and it was pretty fun. They fixed pretty much every bitch I had (mechanically) about the Mustang. Looks like Ford finally brought the modular up to where its always needed to be in NA form.
The thing that keeps me out of a Mustang is that interior. The retro body style I've learned to like, but that interior is silly. I mean the guage cluster mostly.
The fact you can get into a base '11 GT for < 29k is a big deal to me too. The 1/2SS are just too much money for da gimp. I also don't like the visibility out of the Camaro vs. the Mustang.
