1. Actual automotive tint (Some companies have cobalt-specific kits)
2. VHT Night shades (Rattle can that you can apply yourself... will probablty need to clearcoat the lights afterwords to get a good looking finish)
3. Actual automotive paint (There's a how-to on here that I used to do mine)
I personally went with automotive paint mixed 8 parts clear to 1 part black; the tails look jet black during the day but at night when you step on the brakes they illuminate very well. One guy I know just put on 20% tint over his tails.
Hope this helps!

I did it my self with VHT niteshades its very easy to do and only cost my like $15, and it looks sick. But if you do make sure you do a couple of coats of clear. And a very fine Sand paper in between to get rid of any imperfections

if you use nightshades the quality will be lower than automotive paint. nightshades just doesnt give the shine of actual auto paint/clear. I am probably gonna buy some pre-tinted lights for mine.

you can try a look not many people have, so far i see im the only one who has this on my car, nightshade the outside of the brake lights, not the front side only the sides of it. then on the lights for the reverse, nightshade the red lens and leave the white reverse light non shaded. thats how i have mines if you understand what i mean.
