I have an even BETTER solution...it's called SEDAN. :-)

the knob under the seat that adjusts the back support is all the way loose. i tried adjusting it so it pushed in on my back a bit and then i realised when i drove my back hurt. forgot about that knob. one day i loosened it all the way and i realised how much more comfterble the seat was.
The seat height is the one thing I've found I've changed significantly in this car over my 2.2...like yourself I want to sit higher and I'm more comfortable the higher up I go (within reason). I think I'm 2 or 3 clicks away from the top right now, have my seatback reclined, some very subtle lumbar support (just to the point I feel it touch the seatback on my back because like you it gets sore if I have much more than that) and raised the wheel up so my sholders are planted in the rear of the seat instead of down lower where it was.

I'll see how things go on the way to work tomorrow but I did some spirited driving on the way home tonight and found my shoulder blades stayed planted in the seat on every bend, going WOT I had full control (with hands at 3/9) and my right leg doesn't seem to be aching like it has been. Here's hoping, my fingers are crossed 'cause this has been a huge pain in the ass . I'm almost thinking now I've always sat WAY too low in my cars and had far too little back support but I'll see how this goes for a day or two and hope it grows on me . Perhaps these seats weren't allowing me to do that which explains my discomfort, it's my first vehicle with a bucket type seat and it seems to take some getting used to.
