rear sway bar

Just curious if anyone has the same issue. I recently bought a rear sway bar and believe its installed correctly. Everytime I hit a few bumps in the road I can hear it rattling and was wondering if there's anyway to fix this. All of the bolts are tight. I see where there is a bit of metal to metal contact on each end. I was thinking of maybe putting dynomat on the top of the bar so that may soften the sound. The bar works great but the metal to metal noise is annoying.

Where did you get the rear sway bar from?

There should not be any metal to metal type sound. Post up a picture so we can see if you installed it correctly.

I trying to load a couple pics from my camera phone however it doesn't look like they came out well. I got it from over the top performance. There were no instructions for the install however I looked on this site for other similar sway bars and pics. It looked straightforward. So if looking at the car from the back I have it pointed toward the front of the car with each end bolted to the bottom of the shock mount. I took the inserts with the nut welded to them and and sat them on the top side of the bottom mount. Then I threaded the bolt from the bottom first through the bar and then through the bottom of the mount through the nut.

You probably don't have it tight enough.

Bolts should be torqued to 40ft/lbs

I'll check the torque settings. It doesn't touch in the middle standing still. I'll try and tighten it up a bit more.

I've got the hardcore bar and it touches at the ends but it doesn't make any noises at all

Thanks HB. I just went outside and there were maybe 3-4 half turns left before I hit the 40lbs torque so I'm hoping that was it. It now feels a bit tighter and doesn't look like it will flex.

I just had the GMS1 installed last week so I"m hoping to make a couple passes at Atco tommorrow night assuming the weather holds up. Huge difference over stock. Highly recommend both the GM tune and the rear sway bar.
