Reconfigurable performance display (SS/TC)
They should really just go for total integration if their gonna make it optional on the car . Use one of the avail navigation head units , skip the navagation and use it as full color display . It would much more appealing I would think . They had a OEM navi ( looked like from the trailblazer? ) unit in the Open air concept Cobalt , unless it wasnt hooked up ...it should be compatible with the Cobalts can bus wiring .

that would be sweet just like the new nissan gt-r, make it be able to self tune, but of course this is gm we are taking about.
Not sure what ya mean about GM , I dont think theres a OEM out there that would put something similar thats in the GTR in a $23K sport compact .
with an a pillar gauge i always get that bug in the lower left corner of my eye feeling. especially if theres gonna be a monitor there. i love the idea but when i get one im just gonna squeeze it in a dash vent or something.
if your buying one for 500-700 for the tire pressure and you think its gonna save you money you are crazy....go spend 2$ on a tire pressure guage...lolllll
EDIT: There already should be one attached to your jack in the trunk...

Most of the older style ones were really annoying, especially to tire installers. They used to be about the size of a deck of cards, but now they are much sleeker and easier to work with. The new ones are also a lot more accurate (to the .1psi) but they do have a smaller window of the "okay psi" (+-4 psi) before the light comes on.
It looks like the pillar with the cut out for the factory gauge is still used. It just looks like it will fall off. GM should replace the pillar with something more flush for the meter. And hopefully they will change the location of the switch to the inside. Nice concept although I sort of agree with the folks about a touchscreen navigation with this integrated. It may drive up the price $1500-2000 though...
id buy it but for some reason i feel like its gonna take more than just dropping in the screen and plugging it in... im pretty sure its gonna be pretty intensive to make it all function.. not to mention how pre 2008 cobalts didnt come with tire pressure sensors.. BUT if it does come out for the ss/sc and isnt that hard to install/expensive, id get it for sure
Two things:
GM needs to team up with G-Tech Pro to develop a more comprehensive performance meter with full diagnostic integration, similar to what they have here.
Ditch the A-Pillar idea. It's ok for a boost guage (which is really more bling than functional). Personally, I think it'd be nice to have some of this info in a Heads Up Display (HUD) for that kind of money. Can anyone say mini-Corvette! And since this is really an SCCA bred stud anyway, how about data logging?

Wouldn't pay more then $700 for it though.
