OK!!! in my quest to find an RPD for my cobalt I decided to post a wanted ad on Kijiji for an RPD. A day later I got a call from a guy from Toronto who said he had two Rpd's for sale. He told me that he had installed an RPD into his Cobalt and was very knowledgeable about Cobalt SS and RPD installations. He said that he and his brother had a company called Tech Source and he would sell me an RPD for $150.00! His company specialized in electronic devices that he sold online. I was so happy to get an RPD for so cheap. After he sent me a picture of the RPD online and verified the part# I paid him via email transfer.
Since then ive never heard from him again!!! His phone is disconnected and when I typed his cell # into google it turned up a lot more Kijiji ads for things like Ipods and DVD players! It also turned up two craigs list pages warning people of a scammer using the same phone # that this guy had.

Your probably wondering why he has a toronto # but an Ottawa address. Well, I questioned him about that and he told me that he recently moved to Ottawa and didn't want to change his cell number due to his regular customers. I fell for it because ive had a Barrie Ont cell number and haven't lived there in 7 years, so I could relate!!!
What really got me was that he knew sooooooo much about the RPD!!! Honest, he did his homework if he really wanted to scam me cause he knew as much as me.
So please everyone read this and take warning. I wish I would have read the warning on Google that I found after the fact.
I acted on emotion.......I wanted an RPD so bad because ive been looking for soooooo long that I truly wanted to believe this guy. Right from the get go I knew this sounded fishy but I kept giving him the benefit of the doubt when I should have been using my head........... Im sooooo bummed about not getting an RPD but It could have benn worse.......It was only $150 bucks.

 

Well thats what good con artist do research on what people want to buy and easily dissappear. Its a shame people put that much effort into scammin people but cant put the effort into going to school or doing a real job. Its just as much work.
