i have about 1,200 miles on the car now and its next to impossibe to shift into 5th gear when the car is cold. is there any adjustment thats simple to do? it shifts into 5th no prob when it warms up. when i first got it i couldnt shift into 5th but the plastic tray under the cup holders that has the cables was missing a nut that holds it to the hump and the whole thing would rock back and forth. i would rather not bring it to the dealer if its a simple fix.

 

I would probably take it to the dealer and have them fix it.

 

Take it to the dealer, so they have a record of it. That way, if something else breaks later on, they don't blame you for beating on the car. If it really was broken when you got it, let them fix it so you don't get blamed.

 

mmmm good point indeed, i've had a few issues getting into 5th here and there randomly, 2-3 times already ended up in 3rd gear instead of 5th for a fraction of a second.
