Should have got the highrise
I've been torn on this subject untill now. Thought the big spoiler was too "fast and furious" for my age. Too flamboyant. Now there is another black SS/TC at work with the highrise and it makes my car look, well, plain. Not to mention I pass a base cobalt with the highrise everyday going home from work. Grrrr...
So instead of a $150 option im looking at spending $300-$400 to get one aftermarket (painted). I guess the point of this thread is--> if ur not sure..go highrise. If u dont like it.. there are a zillion members on here that would trade thier smaller wing in a heartbeat.

lol I know what you mean. I didn't want a high rise but I was forced to get one if I wanted a car before x-mas. I am pretty glad I got it now. Now the only question is if I debadge everything or not ?

HA.. It was the opposite for me. The dealership I settled on only had lowrise. So it forced me in the other direction. And now Im sad. BTW.. dont totally debadge..paint the bowties black. Then post pics. I need more test subjects before I decide to do it myself
You wouldn't happen to have a black cobalt? hint hint

lol I see how it is. I was only going to take the SS and turbo badge off, not everything.

usually the people that LOVE the hi rise are the ones that either don't have it, or it didn't come on the car and they swapped.
I had the car for about 2 minutes and realized it looks good from maybe 1 or 2 angles, everywhere else it looks silly. And they flop around on the highway too.

plus when I shut the trunk, the spoiler did a dance for about 30 seconds unless I grabbed it

I LOVE my Hi Rise and my car came with it... and I'm 42 years old!
There are so many plain base 'Balts around me, it's nice to look unique. Also not into the "sleeper" look. I want that guy in the WRX/SRT4/Civic Si/etc/etc to try and get next to me at a red light so I can let him know what an American "Tuner" car can do. I don't want him to just think "Oh, just another base Cobalt" and move on.

Well I bought a wingless trunk to take to the track with me cuz from looking around, if you take the high rise off it nets you .2 in the 1/4 mile. I kept the wingless on for a while and liked it very much, Way more then I would the Low pro, but in the end, I feel like I like the overall look of the High rise a little better with it on.
but to each their own.

You can get an actual cobalt high rise wing from an aftermarket vendor on ebay for about 250 painted. I did that for my sport tint red and it matches perfectly. Make sure you do not get one from Schram (?) that has been taken off another car...I tried that as well and the one they sent was beat up pretty badly. I actually prefer having both so that you can go back and forth...right now I have my high rise so that I can still see behind me...I am short so the low profile is directly in my line of vision...the high rise sits just above my field of vision. The high rise does vibrate, especially when shutting the trunk, but it is solid so you don't have to worry....

Yeah, I love my high rise as well. The low rise just looks like what every other Cobalt has. You can really spot out a Balt SS with a high rise from quite a distance and that's what I like about it. It's unique.
It is personal preference though. And for liking the high rise soo much strangely enough I really like the wingless look as well!

I have people do double takes on my car... they don't think its an SS SC because of the wing... so they look ahead then look over again and stare at the badges on the side... they have that "oohhhh, I see now!" look on their face lol.
