Slicks on SS/TC
Slicks on SS/TC
It's a tire question, but it's more about the SS/TC in general. I'm trying to decide between putting drag radials or drag slicks on some Drag DR-34 17" track wheels.
Will the stock axles hold up off the line with drag slicks? What about when doing a NLS to 2nd gear with GMS1 installed? Will I have any other parts to worry about breaking while using slicks?
I don't want to break anything on the car and I guess the considerable factor is the fact that when I shift into 2nd it's essentially a powershift which could put a lot of stress on the axles...anyone have any clue?
Thanks,

Slicks have alot more give in the sidewall than a drag radial does. You will be better off with slicks because they tend to absorb some of the inital hit while the drag radial does not. Drag radials can and do work but you'll need to slip the clutch alittle.
