IDK mine didn't get to move from December 18th-March 6th because we had 26 inches of snow on the ground

I drove through a whiteout blizzard in mine with Blizzaks. The car is a tank with those on it.

I have never run snow tires on my car, always just all-seasons. Overall, I've never had a problem. And we have some pretty shitty back roads..

Expenive. If I remember correctly, I was quated at over $250 a piece for Blizzaks that wrap around 18 inch rims. I don't know how much they are if you had a set of 16-17 inch steelies.

Since you're a t/c, you need to get 17's for winter. 16's don't go around the Brembo's. You'll need to get either IRL's or SS n/a's or run anything else with spacers.

That's what most people who haven't used winter tires tend to say. Of course, some all-season tires are better in the snow than others. But, compared to the average all-season tire, winter tires make a significant difference. On days when everyone is crawling, I can generally safely do the speed limit. I've watched people spinning out and going all over the place on roads that I have no issue with.

I've seen a study where they compared summer, all-season, and winter tires. The summer tires performed the best in dry and wet conditions and, of course, the winter tires did the best on snow and ice. The point is though, all-season tires are always a compromise.

For winter tires, I'd recommend the General Altimax Arctics. I had those on my Grand Prix and they were awesome. They were out of stock when I went to buy winter tires for my TC and ended up with some Yokohamas. It could be that I'm now driving a lighter car, but they don't seem to perform as well as the Generals.

16s the lip just wont clear the Brembos so spacers wont help no matter how big the spacers are, smallest we can go is 17. I used Hankook W300s last winter and they were pretty damn good.

ya you need at least 17's with 3mm spacer i believe... it's why i opted to buy a winter beater and save my car rather than spend the same amount on winter tires and rims.

Your going to spend at least a 1000 bucks on a decent winter setup for the SS/TC ..... Thats why I bought a 1000 beater that had new snows already on it .

The Drag DR-34 and DR-33 are 17 inch and fit without any spacers. I got the DR-34s ($115 each) and winter tires from Discount Tire Direct. The mounting, balancing, and shipping is free. I also bought the install kit with lugs and hub rings, which is necessary. I saved some money by not getting pressure sensors. I don't recall what I paid total, but it was under $1000.

hell no, they wont clear the brembo's.

I hell f'ing no dont drive mine in the snow! i bought myself a 4x4 for that But I drove my ms3 in the snow. With winter tires (on steelies) the car does very well, specially with LSD and traction control/slip. But still cannot compare to a 4x4. I can stop on a snow covered hill in my escape half way up, then go again no issue. in a fwd, you cant stop you just gotta freaking go or you slip and need to turn and go back down.

One winter with BFG SuperSport A/S. Did ok. Going from a stop was tough.

One winter with Bridgestone RE960's. Same thing.
