Snow
drove it in the snow once with the conti's and never again lol ... only drove it because other car had a problem with it. with winters it could have been a different story for sure but i don't plan on winter driving my balt.
I drove through a whiteout blizzard in mine with Blizzaks. The car is a tank with those on it.
I've seen a study where they compared summer, all-season, and winter tires. The summer tires performed the best in dry and wet conditions and, of course, the winter tires did the best on snow and ice. The point is though, all-season tires are always a compromise.
For winter tires, I'd recommend the General Altimax Arctics. I had those on my Grand Prix and they were awesome. They were out of stock when I went to buy winter tires for my TC and ended up with some Yokohamas. It could be that I'm now driving a lighter car, but they don't seem to perform as well as the Generals.
16s the lip just wont clear the Brembos so spacers wont help no matter how big the spacers are, smallest we can go is 17. I used Hankook W300s last winter and they were pretty damn good.
The Drag DR-34 and DR-33 are 17 inch and fit without any spacers. I got the DR-34s ($115 each) and winter tires from Discount Tire Direct. The mounting, balancing, and shipping is free. I also bought the install kit with lugs and hub rings, which is necessary. I saved some money by not getting pressure sensors. I don't recall what I paid total, but it was under $1000.
hell no, they wont clear the brembo's.
I hell f'ing no dont drive mine in the snow! i bought myself a 4x4 for that
But I drove my ms3 in the snow. With winter tires (on steelies) the car does very well, specially with LSD and traction control/slip. But still cannot compare to a 4x4. I can stop on a snow covered hill in my escape half way up, then go again no issue. in a fwd, you cant stop you just gotta freaking go or you slip and need to turn and go back down.
