So I got to test out my brembos today...

I was cruising down the street going about 60 in a 35 and totally ran a red light because I was not paying attention... I had to slam on the brakes to miss an SUV and stopped on a dime! I might of had a bit of tilt during the stop but nothing major. It was the first time in my life I ever has to SLAM on the brakes(and Im 31 years old). Very impressed... I love my SS.

I was heading to work the other day and had to hit mine pretty hard too.

A guy in a truck with a big trailer decided to come over into my lane without any signal or checking first and I had to dodge the trailer while staying between both the curb and the trailer scissoring me towards the curb.

Did the brakes work okay? Oh heck yeah! Not a single scratch on the car or wheels!

Hey Kimi, thanks for the PM telling me im an ******* cuz i called you a dick, you are a dick, especially if you are doing twice the speed limit and running red lights, I hope that small piece of gradification does you well, incase the next time you run a light there is another car there with a family in it and you kill someone. Have a nice nite. And by the way, I drive American, too.

..You have truly NEVER sped in your life? Never gone 2x the speed limit? Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone...

On topic, At 60mph and lower the brakes are awesome, but slowing down hard from 120-130mph you can tell the pads are riding on a cushion of hot air.. Slotted rotors should take care of that.

i do my speeding on the highway, 60 in a 30 is unacceptable. Ive had my license for 7 years and have yet to cause an accident, get a speeding tix or run a red light.

Well aren't you just a hotshot. But just because you haven't got a ticket or caused an accident doesn't mean you haven't broke the law. Everyone has gone under the light when it was turning red. The guy was just talking about how good his brakes worked. You don't need to be an ******* about him speeding. He took the same test to get his license that you did so I'm sure he knows its against the law.

how about he should have just left out the part of him being irresponsible so we wouldn't have all this assholeness to go through?

but since he didn't leave it out...

Yes we all make mistaked and run yellow lights (notice he didn't say it just turned red) but "i was late for a meeting so I went double the speed limit and ran a redlight" is no excuse. Whether you saw it or not... If someone would have been riding on a motorcycle you would have ended their life... if the speed limit is 35 I'm going to assume there are houses around with small children? F it... defend a guy that could have killed someones, too many accidents around here lately with people being killed because of stupid sh*t like this.

Pay attention or dont f*cking drive! (or at least don't post it)

done...

Oh I agree, but if someone told the story in a store to their friends IRL, and you walked up to it, would you be calling out this guy in the middle of a ******* store?

Just because you have a different opinion, doesn't mean it needs to be heard.

Everyone relax, and let the guy figure it out himself that really doubling the speed limit is not the answer to being late to an 'important meeting'. Getting up on time is. Leaving with enough time is. Planning ahead is the answer.

If the OP doesn't learn his 'perfect' driving record won't be perfect forever.

Hope you don't have to make a "got to test my airbag" thread.

Glad the car makes up for the lack of the driver.

It's not that he was speeding, it's that he was speeding AND not paying attention... I'm not saying I don't speed every now and then, but if I do I'd better pay damn close attention.

Wow... my op was designed to praise the brembo brakes on the SS. I dont know how it degenerated into 2 pages worth of flames. After telling the story to a friend of mine I find out that the speed limit on that particular road is 45, not 35... So I guess Im still a big dick, but whatever. The story of how it came to be wasnt important to me, or in my opinion the post... I was trying to explain how I had to slam on the brakes and they worked wonders... ok? Next time I will be more careful when trying to explain something on these forums so I dont upset anyone. I mean seriously... I thought this community was all about the SS and how it performs?

You hear about wonderful things all your life and then find out they are big lies(Santa Claus, Shamwow Towel, etc..) So I find out first hand that brembo brakes are everything Ive heard about and now Im a dick because they saved me from getting into an accident...? Wow...

Ive been driving for over 15 years and that was the first time I ever had to slam on the brakes like that. Ive had maybe 2-3 speeding tickets in that time as well. As far as Im concerned that is pretty damn good. Im sure I will eventually get a speeding ticket in my SS because of how fast and smooth the ride is. It just happens. I bought it with the money that I earned myself, and by god I am gonna enjoy it.

I have driven and been in many cars in my life, but everyday I am surprised at the performance and value packed into the SS for the price. That is why I am here in these forums and that is why I wanted to let everyone know about how awesome the brembos work. If everytime I have something good to say about my car I get called a dick and it generates 2 pages worth of flames... well maybe Ill just keep it to myself.

Props: Everyone who stayed on topic and/or said give this guy a brake... it happens.

Slops: Everyone who criticized my driving ability and/or competence.
