Ss/ sc Recaro seats VS Turbo cobalt seats

Hey everyone! If you have sampled both seats, which ones are better? Explain why?
And why do u thinking GM didn't get Recaro to make the seats for the SS turbo.....yet sometimes I read reviews that claim they are recaros in the SS Turbo?

Ya when I sat in daves Evo ten when I was in Huntington beach I was pretty amazed! Funny thin is after ownin my car for almost two years I finally discovered that it had the LUMBAR support! I never noticed it? I love the turbo seats but I always felt like they were too hard and I sat too high Hahahaha once I found the handle I figured out that it was because it was guilds up ALL THE WAY! I jacked it down all the way and now it feel TOTAL race MODE! And the side bolsters hug me better now then they did inthe high position

i'm just curious, but is there any proof that recaro actually designed the seats in the g85 s/c package as oppose to just doing the leather work? just asking because the gmpp seats in the t/c's look so similar IMO.

yeah the recaros hold you better and dont look as dirty when they are dirty. However the tc seats seem to be more comfy but idk i only had recaros in y old car for a month or so before i traded up fr my balt now. If i had the choice id probably get the recaros.

The Recaro's in my old car were better than my TC seat's ..... wish GM would have carried them over.

I found these on a car in new york that was for sale on craigslist...... wish he would have parted with the seats

The TC seats don't really need to be heated though. Since they're not all leather the the SC seats. On a side note, I going to put in GTO seats. Big and comfy. Nice seats for people that drive far distances.

you guys know the t/c seat bolstering is adjustable right? Just push them in or out slowly and there you go....

Also the recaros leather had me sliding around to much when I drove in one. Didnt hold me that well. Especially if you just cleaned them. Im assuming GM didnt want to give all kinds of money to recaro just to use there name and seats when they came up with the awesome seats that they did, cheaper.

Sliding around? You must be talking about the stock ss/sc seats. the recaros had mesh on the bottom and back with leather bolsters.

Never sat in TC seats, but i mostly liked the few recaro seats i test drove. However, i was a bit...heavier...when i purchased my car

...they werent as comfy. Now that i've lost a lot of weight, i wish i would have gotten a car with them...but i would have sacrificed getting an 07. So, needless to say i'll look for a set eventually.

Ya I was sliding around in the recaro's ( i know the diff haha) the guy had just cleaned them the day before so that could of been it, but I was sliding pretty good in them enough where i didnt feel any confidence in turns.

Adjust the side bolsters.... push them in or push them out, theyre kinda like memory foam. Try it, do it like 3-4 spots up on each side with which way you wanna go. Push slowly.

EDIT: Thats What i did and a bunch of other people on this site have done also, but if something weird happens dont come blaming me. lol

I had never driven in the Recaro seats up until a few weekends ago when I was best man in my friend's wedding and drove his car to the picture spot while he and the bride rode in the limo.

I prefer the bolstering on the TC seats, being a small guy I find they're tighter so I don't shift around as much. However, I prefer the flat back of the Recaros in the SS/SC are opposed to the "natural lumbar" the TC seats have. I have a shallow back so finding a comfortable position in the TC seats where my back didn't feel like it was mangled took me over a year (no joke) whereas I just plopped into the Recaros in the SS/SC and was immediately comfortable.

One thing I'm not sure of with the TC seats is why the part of the pan where your ass goes is almost flat as opposed to the Recaro being a constant angle "up" from seat back to end of the seat. All in all though I'd say they're comparable .

must be an option, i dont have a knob under the seat, or maybe a 4 door vs. 2 door thing.

Yea, the sedan doesn't have it and the coupe does.
Supposedly you can get the knob and install it and it works. That's what I've read on here.

I've had all 3 in my car. The stock SS/SC leathers are really comfy, but they don't hold you during hard cornering. But they're heated so it's win.

I had the Recaro's for a few weeks and sold them because they hurt my back when I drove any more than like an hour or so. I thought it was just me, but I've heard some other people say the same thing. They definitely hold you well though. I sold them and put my leather SS/SC seats back in.

And last but not least, the SS/TC seats. When I first sat in them when the TC's came out, I absolutely LOVED them. I really think they're the best of both words between the Recaro's and the SS/SC seats. But they're not heated.... So... I swapped out the wiring and heating elements from my SS/SC seats and put them in the SS/TC seats.

My heated SS/TC seats = flawless victory. And the best of every world.
