Ss steering wheel cap and rim center cap?!

I have a ss/tc and I want to put an ss emblem on the steering wheel cap. I heard the rim center caps and the steering wheel center cap are the same exact thing. Is that true? Or someone just BSing.. And if I can't do that does the bowtie emblem just peel off to where I can put an ss in it's place? Let me know any info please and thanks!

the HHR SS has just SS on the steering wheel, the sticker thing in the center of the steering wheel i think peels off, however ive heard some people say once it comes off it wont go back on. i dont know if it clips in or is a sticker. and i can assure you the steering wheel cap and the hub caps arent interchangeable if thats what your asking. lol

The steering wheel emblem is molded in, and then it clips in and folds behind on the other side of the airbag cover so it doesn't go flying into your face when it detonates. If you like the idea of something hard and potentially sharp embedding itself or worse into your face if it deploys then by all means swap it out.

Oh and I know how its held in cause I work in a bodyshop and have seen how the airbag cover splits in 2 halfs.

Your best chance is to see if a HHR SS airbag will swap into place. Also I wouldn't recommend getting an airbag from an auto wrecker... That is, if they would even sell it to you for liability reasons.

^^^^^ is right. They are molded in. once its off its off and prolly broken or bent out of shape. You can get vinyls that will cover over top or get a custom one made like i did. Take the old one out by prying it out, then dremeling out the center and sticking the new one on with double sided tape.

I've heard if you want the hhr ss center cap you have to change out the whole airbag modular.. But yeah I was hoping the bowtie was just a decal so I can peel it off and replace it but all that sounds like too much trouble to be worth it. I might just paint the bowtie and leave it at that.
