i think the ss/tc is like a different car in every way other than the body styling. new interior, new suspension new drivetrain, new brakes, new wheels & tires (no more shitty pirellis ftw), new grilles. being that i am buying an 2008 ss/tc i will be proud to own one but if the body was completely redesigned for 2009 and it looked good i would be kicking myself in the ass. i think thats the feeling a lot of the ss/sc owners that are bashing have right now. its not a competition between the sc and tc. the cobalt model is progressing in a positive direction. if the 2.2 got stamped with ss badges and was called the new & improved cobalt performance model i can see you guys hating it, but since the new ss is actually a performance vehicle that outperforms the previous model you really have no reason to bash it.

yea probably, but i know i hated the old pirellis so i have hope for the continentals. either way i intend on buying new wheels and putting falkens on them. i've had falkens on my last 2 cars and never had any issues in any weather so they are my prefered tire.

yea i checked the ratings of the contis online and they got pretty good reviews. i'm a little upset my 16" m3 dunlop wintersports on steelies won't fit the ss/tc. they were great with what little snow we got here last year. i definitly want some winter wheels.

That's definitely a step up from our stock SC clutch ...

So this means that the guy who is driving this particular yellow ss/tc is testing it for GM and does not own it. like i said, im guessing its a friend of my neighbors who stayed over their house for the night.

when i got home from work the car was gone and my neighbor isnt home right now so i cant talk to him. but im gunna be outside washing my car for a few hours now so im sure i will see him outside since hes always in his garage working on his rebuild project (its a charger or something) ill get the story from him and let you guys know what was up with the car.

edit: and sry i couldnt get any interior shots but as you can see it was early and still a bit foggy and the windows were all fogged up.
very nice, I want to see the interior of the yellow SS/TC

Nice, and for the record I'm sicking of hearing about the SS badge being overused. FFS it's not 2006 anymore they no longer make all those SS's except for the Cobalt,Impala and Trailblazer. Also the Silverado SS was quick AND you could haul/tow with it still, plus it came with AWD standard so come winter you could still drive it. Try that in a Lightning or a SRT10 Ram.

u know if i new that this car was going to come out i would of waited and bought this car before i had bought my 07 ss/sc. But its ok in a way because just by adding a stage2 this car is as fast as the TC.

The cobalt SS/TC doesnt really make 260hp its around 230

Its all good in a way its an awesome car with brand new features that i wish i had.

But i believe its not worth trading in ur 07 ss/sc over it. Ill just wait for the 2010 There remodeling

So you are saying in FWD trim it makes less whp because I watched a solstice GXP put down 245 to the wheels and rwd has more parasitic loss.

The S2 SS's are going to be slower.

Don't try to justify you wanting one and making excuses man.

It's all good man, I think most people want one.

But still impressive car!! dang I love the brakes got to have themlol

Am pretty sure S2 will do the job.

I highly doubt it.

On the same dyno I watched various forms of S2 put down everywhere from 235-240 whp.

The stock GXP put down more than everything there but a 4g stock eclipse GT.

In FWD look for it to put down 245-250.

We're gonna have to wait a while for further info on the SS/T's upgraded clutch.

But in and of itself though, I think that quote by Edmunds from the GM guy says a lot.

I would like it for it's adjustable suspension and beefed up clutch!

Exactly man I agree u with its the same car as the SC but with a turbo.lol.
This is why STFU was invented. If you think its the "same car but with a turbo" then you have been under a rock the last few months.
