ss/tc stage kits

i know that that there is probably a million threads asking about the stage kits for the cobalt SS/TC but i am tossing between buying a new cobalt SS or another caliber SRT-4... so i like both cars alot but now looking to do a stage kit for either car as soon as i can (like within a month of getting the car), but right now holding me back from the cobalt SS is that the modding procedures....

also how much do you guys predict that the stage 1 kit would be for the coblat SS/TC?, and any prediction of when it would be out? i know for the caliber SRT-4 is $344 and you get a decent amount of power from that, but thinking about changing up the scenery abit and getting a SS/TC.

thanks, craig

PM GTPprix for a new ECU. If I were you I would buy a new ECU for warranty purposes and order a Trifecta Tune at www.trifectaperformance.com it will cost about 500 dollars for both but you will retain warranty and have tremendous #'s? about 300 HP and 340 lbs.ft of torque.

one of my good friends has an srt4 caliber with the stage 1 kit, k&n intake and a 3inch exhaust he pulls hard but its the no lift shift that kills him from a first gear roll im pulling away hard in 3 gear i gain half a car every shift!!!!

The SS would be a better choice because it has better financing options and can take turns. The CSRT4 not so much. If you are just going for straight line speed just get a GTO or Terminator cobra for the same price, you will be much happier.

Yea, we can out brake and out manuever those big bricks... and so much lighter that any horsepower that you put into a SS is gonna get you a lot more bang for your buck than a SRT4
I test drove a SRT4 before i bought my SS and just didnt like the family car feel really... the front looks amazing but its just too big and heavy. Its really flashy with the 19 inch wheels but really cant back it up from stock. The shifter position on a SRT4 felt too long to reach and was pretty uncomfortable all around too :P plus the SS was alot less

it is alot less but you know both cars have thier perks. the caliber was faster on a roll. i raced my friends big turbo'd GTI from a 40 mph roll and we stayed right next to each other untill about 90mph and by 100mph he had about 3/4 of a car on me. but a couple things on a cobalt can get me faster than the caliber lol and my friend... but i am thinking of changing it up and going with a SS/TC. its a real nice car. and i love it in white. so good

At work we have a Caliber and it has the worst torque-steer I've ever felt. I hear the SRTs are the same way, too. They do look great, but there are more things I don't like about it rather than enjoy about it. The Caliber has a good bit of road-noise, the shifter-throw feels long and sloppy, the center console might as well be non-existent (much like the SS haha) and from what I hear, the handling is not that great.
