It would probably be a drivers race, but I would place my bet on the SS/TC.

But, please look around, and you will see a couple of threads on a SS/TC, vs. a Stage 2 SS/SC or a Redline Stage 2

u didn't look very far, try "ss/tc vs" and "sstc vs" and i'm sure you'll see several threads pop up.........the ss/tc will win hands down, the LSJ owners just don't understand how the LNF is geared on top of the fact it's turbo so we are not losing top end because it's a pulley off the engine.

I like to use MSN auto. Sure it might now be 100% accurite but it as close as it gets.

06 IRL manual curb weight - 2945
09 Cobalt SS coupe - 2975

the 07 IRL i had with side airbag's,sunroof and a 1/4 tank weighed in at 2960.. weighed it on a truck scale at a recycling plant... and ill bet $ if it didnt have the side airbag's and sunroof it would have been under 2800...

Quotes like these give ss/tc owners a bad rap. You should be a bit more respectful to your fellow Cobalts.

I'd say it's more of a drivers race when up against Stg2

technically speaking absolutely, miss a shift and the ss/sc wins hands down but in the end driver vs driver if neither makes any critical mistakes the ss/tc will win.

From a 40 roll an SS/SC Stage 2 is really strong... You'll instantly lose a car or two and have to pull it back. A 60 roll you'll slowly walk, but the 40 will certainly be a drivers race.

I've never driven an SS/TC but I'd give a very slight edge to the turbo car. The stage 2 SS/SC should be able to keep up or even win with a great driver. I'd like to race both with my LT1 z28 and see what happens

You say a stock TC will win hands down but in your sig you ran 14.4 @ 100 mph . SOME stock SC's have run faster times than that , not a ton but quite a few. Add stage 2 and its a drivers race, many have broke into the 13's some into the .80's . I'm not being a fanboy but saying anything other than a drivers race is ignoring the facts.

Haha, beat me to it. Stock SS/SC's have run alot better than 14.3 stock. Look at how low Hatrickstu was able to get his stage 2 SS/SC..wasn't it a 13.3?

13.3 impossible stage 2 sc only produces around 230-245 hp and low 200's of TQ
The best time ever recorded in a turbo stock was 13.5 with around 245hp( give or take) 250 or so Tq (give or take)

U mean to tell me a car with more tq and hp have less times than one with less. It has atleast 40+more Tq than a stage 2 and slightly more Hp.

I dont care how good of a driver you are those times arnt possible with that much tq and Hp
So now it's a strict Stage 2 only? Anyways it was a 13.3 @104. Yeah, a stock SS/TC ran a 13.5 but a tune, DR's, Intake, and Catback only added 6 tenths and 1mph? Yes, the SS/TC is a superior car but in that case it needs to hurry up and take the #1 spot on the drag list from a SS/SC on stock blower with just a 2.85 (12.7@108.9)........

it will once this upgrade kit is released. Im not bragging on the Tc but its physics. More Hp, More Tq, better times with the same driver. Those times may be stock blower but its still a modded car. Stage 2 turbo will be on the #1 spot once these kits are made. Actually stage 1 which is around spring hopefully. Since you want to make a thing about this.

All im saying is, If its a stage 2 kit with other mods then yea I can believe that time.
