Take it back to them.....These things have broken numerous times. I would not accept a NO for an answer...because its an extremely cheap design. If they doubt it....insist to the service manager (not the service writer) to talk to his GM rep about this. Dont rant and rave at the dealership...but tell the service writer you wish to see the service manager...Talk to the service manager, if he doesnt do it, call the GM hotline, explain to them hwat happened. I'm sure if they do a search of that part ordered they will find hundreds replaced underwarrnty when only a few 3500'ish cars have that intake setup. Its a known issue w/ the car, and a weak design. Especially for you guys up north in the cold

pay the $70.00 to get it fixed. lol

From what I've been reading no intake is really worth buying into unless you're willing to spend some quality time tuning the car with an aftermarket tune.

ended up putting my dejon sri on i hate to though because the ftment is bad unless you plan ahead for it maning you wrap your ac lines with silicone hose and you put a rubber cap on the stud for the factory airbox. I just didnt like it plus th learn down sucked with it on but I am gms1 and its not messing with my short term fuel rims very much and my car actually seems to be ok with it and is not fighting the extra airflow so I think I will stay with this

As to why it broke on my stock intake. I have no idea. I was not messing with my car in any way. I had been noticing decresed gas mileage for about 3 days and i took it in for an oil change when the techs poped the hood I saw that it was broke. Needess to say I took it to gm imediately but they said that someone broke it and would have to order the part anyways so I just put on my dejon intake which I took off 6 months ago because I hated how it made my car run.

part number is 87304022 I think but they also gave me 25894255 but that number might be an internal number. price is 65.69 here in Oklahoma

If they won't replace it under warranty, spend the 70 bucks.

They will fix it under warranty, many have had this happen and fixed under warranty, it is a flaw by how it was designed.

i think the point you need to make is that you will not let them dismiss this flaw in design. if you do it just lets them keep doing it to everyone else, and nothing will ever be done about it except screwing everyone else out of $70. I would bother them till they fixed it. it's a warranty, and the price of your car was artificially raised because of the warranty, the one you just decided to not make use of.

My dealer fixed mine under warranty, no questions asked. Like others said, its a common issue, some people accidentally broke it, but many just had it break off on its own. Don't pay to have them fix their issue.

though i have not had this problem i cant believe they are not gonna fix it under warranty...

when i took my car in for the rear brake issue and they did tell me that on the hot side they had to replace a bolt that in many cars was coming out some how and breaking high pressure fuel pumps...

i guess some dealers just stand behind **** more than others....
