Stupid Question

Not really worthy of a thread, but do you need to jack the car up to replace the lower charge pipe? Anyone do it without?

If so, how'd that go?

What should I keep an eye out for?
Hardest parts, things to avoid, etc.

I'd like to learn from your mistakes.

So I can do this all just by removing the front bumper?
That will give me direct access to everything I need?

So any estimate of time on getting the bumper off, lower and upper charge pipes and intercooler all off, then new all put on?

Giving rain tomorrow night, so I'll be in a race against the weather.

yeah I've got no jack, and probably not the correct tools.

I've got some sockets and extensions
and some stubby ratcheting wrenches.

There's a jack in your trunk. If not, I'd recommend borrowing one from a friend or borrow one from Walmart... Cough cough Return Policy cough cough....

Personally, I would spend money on tools first and then the parts. A decent jack is the first thing a garage mechanic should purchase. Menards has a deal on an aluminum racing jack right now for $70.

Anyone know off hand the exact tools needed for this job?

Just to make sure I'm not missing one.

I really don't want to get half way though to have to put it all back.

You got jack stands? They are cheap enough you could buy them and return them if you don't like them.

They look good. Use those and your trunk jack and you'll be fine. It may take you a bit longer to jack up but it works.

Also, some auto parts places here in the States rent jacks for free or a small fee. You might look into that if you need a real jack. Not sure what they do up there in Maple Leaf Land.
