Kewl,

25 bucks and if I'm careful maybe I can return them.

Personally, I wouldn't do this without jacking the car up, but I take out the fenderwells instead of removing the headlights. Either way, though, it's a lot easier to do if you can remove the front wheels.

You're suicidal if you attempt this without a real jack and jackstands.

You don't think it's possible to jack the car up one side at a time with the trunk jack and put jack stands under it? Or did I miss the point of your comment?

One last check for tools required.

Anyone think of anything missed?

Pull that stock jack out, and when you start jacking up, watch it twist and bend. Now think about sticking even an arm under the car. There's a reason why it's emergency use only. Plus you'll never get the height you need to work comfortably.

Seeing as replacing spark plugs was too much of a job to do yourself, would it be crazy to suggest you take it somewhere to have it done? Spark plugs are about 20x easier of a job than this is.

I said I didn't have the tools...

I don't have that right sockets...

In retrospec they would have been cheaper to just buy them though...

Not sure why everyone takes the headlights out to take the bumper off. I didn't...

Really dood? I used mine the day after I got my car. Worked perfectly. Maybe you got a crappy one. Don't you think changing a tire would take longer than sticking an arm under to place a jack stand?

You don't (unless you're stupid) need to put any part of your body under the car to change a tire. The stock jacks are prone to collapse when over used, or not on a level surface.

But your point was that it could collapse on you which could also happen on a tire change which takes considerably longer to do than the five secs it takes to place a jack stand.

I do agree that it shouldn't be used for every car lifting job though. I'll admit it has it's limitations and having a nice quality jack is by far preferred.

I'm with whoever said get the proper tools before attempting to do any kind of major work to your car, lol. If you have the right tools such as a good jack, etc, it makes the whole process 10x easier, plus less stressful if something screws up and you have to jack it back up to change something if something was put on incorrectly, etc.
Moral: Buy a decent jack! They aren't expensive, plus its not a huge problem if you really are moving in January to just toss it in your trunk.
Trust me from failed experiences, tools should always come before doing the work lol.
