suspension clunk.

2009 with 42k on it. ive had the control arms replaced before,i think at around 30k

well now im getting a new clunk from the left and right side up front. im not lowered but will be lowering soon but id like to fix this clunk first.

ive heard to check the sway bar end links but do i just look to see if an end link bolt is broke or something like that?

im not the best with suspension but am out of warranty and not really wanting a rediculous bill from the dealership to fix it.

any suggestions?

grab your sway bar, and shake it. if u feel knocking, and even sometimes hear it, replace the links.

also to test the mounts, easiest way it to push on the car right beside the strut and have the other hand on the strut tower, and if u feel a knock its the mount.

Sway bar endlinks are easy peazy. Strut tower mounts aren't horriby hard, but aren't nearly as easy as the end links

Are strut mounts something i could do when i put my lowering springs in?

upper strut mount comes out when you take out your strut, so yup you can do it while lowering your car.

i had the same thing. i swapped out my endlinks to some Moog Swaybar Endlinks and the noise is gone. They were 70 bucks from Advanced Auto (ZZP also sells them) and it took my like 30 minutes to replace mine

Are moog end links just a better type of end link?

ive done a little research on moog endlinks. seems like they are much better vs. stock.

i still havent had time to figure out where the clunk is coming from. should find out tomorrow.

I thought mine was control arm and ended up being swaybar as others have said. The dealer covered it under warranty (warranty had expired when they did) so I stuck with stock for now. Happens again I'll be going aftermarket but clunk is gone .

I had a clunk as well.

It turned out to be my endlinks.

I replaced the stockers with moog's and everything has been great since.

Oh yeah, my endlinks **** the bed at 44k. Similar mileage as you OP.

Links are easy. Get a set of vice grips and a combo wrench forgot which size but prolly like 14 or 15mm. Clamp the backside with grips turn nut. Remember when putting in new ones they don't take a whole lot of torque to become tight. Forget the spec but it's not like 100ft lbs. do urself a favour aswell. Put anti seize on threads cause links seem to get replaced a lot on deltas

They are very easy to change.

Remove top bolt first.

Followed by the bottom bolts.

Install new endlinks, & torque bolts to 55 ft-lbs.

I drove around a bit, then loosened them, and re-torqued them to make sure they settled.

They have been great since, and no more clunking

Oreilly has them for $36...so most likely you might come out even since ZZP sells for $30 and will charge for shipping.
