Synapse Charge piping GB

OK heres the deal...

I talked to Synapse we need 10 people and the price would be 499 + shipping down from 599. You can order it in red, black, or bare metal. Whos in?

There are 5 welds and 8 bends in this kit, it is made in America by an American company. Quality parts aren't cheap, remember the old saying, you get what you pay for.

If someone doesn't want to pay 500 for this, then fine you don't have to, But for those who want to get a quality product, and support a forum vendor, feel free to join in. We need 10!

Of course there is... One advantage is the increase in flow over the stock plastic pieces. Number two would be the ability to up the boost with out worrying about blowing the lower IC pipe to bits. And number three is just pure asthetic value, I am getting mine in bare metal and having the tubing chromed.

There is alot of bends and welding... But hey modding is not for everyone, it is expensive, if you don't think it's worth it don't do it. I personally feel that Synapse made a good product worth the money

Keep in mind these aren't some mass-produced shitbag charge piping. These are hand-made, quality products.

But to each their own. I don't own a turbo nor do I plan on purchasing a charge pipe so i'll keep my mouth closed from here on out.

So tell me how are they setting up the piping kit for the stock BOV? The last pip that comes from the cooler to the throttle body is all one Pease and the BOV is molded into the pip. The stock BOV is controlled by the ECU. There is no way the use a bolt on BOV with this cobalt

Why 2.5 instead of 3?... how much differences does that make?

any HP with intercooler piping?

im sure it would come in handy with an aftermarket intercooler

Hard charge pipe will reduce lag a little, because it doesnt flex like the stock plastic does.

... and it looks WAY better, lol.

I would be all over this...if it wasn't a 'look pretty under the hood' piece.

Gotta wait til tuning comes out...unless you like bling.

It is still saving 50ish dollars... I am willing to save as much money as possible this is what synapse offered... maybe they could drop the price to 450 with 15 people... Hopefully they will chime in

Im all for functional mods, but at this point the main restriction in the intake system is the intercooler. That will do much more for power than the piping. Piping will be required once turbo upgrades come along, but intercooler upgrade now will be a much bigger help.

$500 is too much for a visual upgrade (functional later, but visual now).

Exhaust, downpipe, intake to the turbo, and intercooler is my order of upgrades.

im not sure what companies are selling complete charge piping kits for the evos, but they are definately not selling for less than $500. AMS, buschur, etc. are selling for more than $500 for the entire kits.

for most people this will be a cosmetic upgrade. i know we were disappointed with how the factory plastic charge piping look and we wanted to upgrade so hence we made it. it will also bolt right up to our upgraded intercooler.

it takes a lot of materials, and time to fabricate these so its just not something we can make super cheap. if you are looking for the cheapest parts on the net, thats just not what we do here. we make quality parts at a fair price point.

we use 2.5" because there is no need to use 3". 2.5" charge piping can flow more than enough air for 600+whp. using larger than necessary charge piping will result in unnecessary lag.

QFT!
This is why i haven't bought anything "performance" related for the car.
Until there is something out to pull the car out of granny mode, i'm just wasting money on looks and sound. Kind of ricer-ish imo.

Greddy and HKS might mass produce piping for such cars as EVOs and STIs, but they damn sure don't make "shitbag" products.

I think 500 sounds a bit steep too.
