TC PEOPLE please measure

anyone with the turbocharged suede seats
please measure from the beginning of the seat to the front near the lumbar support

the area for your butt looks alot bigger on the tc seats opposed to my leather seats, i was just curious to see if you guys do actually have more butt room

thanks

^ What he said, although I think mine was 22" but I'm not 100 % sure and 1" shouldn't matter

These seats are nothing like the leather seats, they're an entirely different shape, are intended to be sat in differently, etc. The spot for my ass on these seats is smaller because you're supposed to sit on the flat part near the lumbar support not the angled pan. The angle is intended to support your thighs leaving your ass tucked in the corner, that pic isn't an accurrate representation of the driver seat. The rear of the pan is flat and after the break it angles up to the end of the seat. Hope that makes sense .

I won't bother measuring my seats since the two above have similar sizes.

basically if you sit in the seat like you're supposed to you'll fit great but if you're a ricer who has the seat back waaayyy back and all retarded its uncomfortable... with that said, the redlines seats are comfy and fairly supportive as well

It's also easy to have the rake too far forward if you follow the "90 degree seatback -> pan" rule in which case I see people way way way too far from the pedals all hunched over because the angle between hip and back is < 90 degrees (ouch!) even though visually it looks like it should be an even 90. I don't get how they can sit like that but to each their own I guess.

The OP's post is exactly how I looked at the setup of my seat when I was struggling to find a good seating position. Then I realised:
  1. I can't slouch
  2. The seatback cannot be 90 degrees to the flat part of the pan, that leaves your hips as < 90 degrees. I have it at ~90 degrees to the angled portion of the pan..much better (and much closer to the wheel/pedals)
  3. I never struggled so hard with seats like I did these ones to get comfortable

Like you said, they force you to sit "properly" which a good number of drivers do not on a daily basis so it feels/looks odd at first glance .

These seats to not lend themselves to slouching. You need to sit upright.

Yep. I think the pedal location/angle also lends itself to making slouching difficult since you'll end up at awkward angles on the gas/brake particularly in the ankle/knee. Making the switch after 10 years of driving was uncomfortable for a bit but now that I have I see the error of my previous seating positions and these seats are in fact hella comfortable .
