This thread is full of fail. As usual

I've owned a lot of cool cars including an Evo 8, E30 M3, Type R, S4, Legacy GT (STI manifold and GT3076). Each one is fun for a reason, but I chose the TC because it is a durable and quick track car. The interior is no worse than an Evo 9 or 8. None of the cars mentioned above are bad, but they all have pluses and minuses. For instance, I personally will NEVER, EVER go back to the dreaded EJ25 world. It is a poor engine, and has way too problems with cracked ring lands, and it is difficult to work on. I also generally dislike working on German cars. Try owning a few. I've had 3.

I'm looking forward to the inevitable ATS-V or the next Camaro, which will likely be lighter than the current pinker.

Same reason, actually only reason I bought mine. Although I admit I wouldn't consider it until the sedan came out, then it was just a matter of finding one with an LSD and no sunroof. If it weren't for the cars ability on track out of the box I would've likely bought something else. I have to admit I wasn't really aware of just how good the cars were until I picked up the issue of C+D with the Lightning Lap back in '08 or '09, as well as a test Sport Compact Car did. The SS/SC never really interested me.

Same, I really cared nothing about the SC. I was considering a number of cars, including the Evo X and 135. Did more research on the TC, and really started to like what I found. If you take a really close look at the car, you'll find that it's extremely durable in stock form. The axles are seriously beefy, the brakes are tremendous, suspension is relatively good, and it's light, although mine is slightly hampered with the useless-to-me sunroof.

Absolutely. The car was one of the few truly track ready out of the box (the only one in the around 20K price range I was in), and I wanted a daily I could literally go on track with without touching it. It really is funny to me how many people still have no idea how good the cars are, every track day and autocross I had the car at people were crawling all over it.

I'm starting to see the opposite effect now. People get annoyed, and want to deny the existence of me and my car at the track. It's easier on their ego that way.

Nah. I can't see myself ever owning a 2-seater. If Cobalt doesn't scream "girl-car" loudly enough, the S2K certainly does.

I have and next to the RX8, it's gotta be one of the best handling cars for the money. They do get a little snappy in the oversteer department though...

I am currently trying to get an '08 or '09 STi bc the lady doesn't like the 2 doors now that we have a baby. We do have two OTHER vehicles with 4 doors but apparently those don't count. :-/ I love STis though so I'm not too unhappy.

So far only thing I've found that I really miss about the balt besides cruise control is.. the turning radius. Evos have a really wide turning radius, I have a hard time making really tight low speed turns, especially pulling into spaces in tight parking lots. I don't even try to go the wrong way out of angled parking spots. Gets annoying at times.

s2k looks better, but isnt a better car in my opinion.
Not enough power, too noisy in a bad way, and the clutch is crappy...

Of the handful I've driven, I do remember that being annoying. But that go kart-like handling makes up for it.

oh ya the handling and steering precision is amazing, it's just one of those minor drawbacks that make it a little more challenging to live with everyday.

yet your name is vanos and you have had more than 1 cobalt... hahaha

its actually SOOO funny because i am a HUGE BMW guy, am a pretty popular guy among the BMW group of the DMV area. and i drive a cobalt...

your name is vanos and you drive a cobalt.

also, s2k might be a bitch car. might be a small 2 seater. might be w.e

and i hate hondas with a passion, but the s2k for one, has a GREAT motor. can handle soo much boost with nothing done to the internals.

and is a favorite car when ppl drive them.

friend of mine has a dinan bmw m6, and he used to have an s2k. and beleive it or not misses it....

he says he will never in a million years trade his bimmer for 1.

i have had a 2007 sti, 2008 evo and now i own a 2010 cobalt and by a long shot the evo has been my favorite car, the only reason i sold was to save money and the cobalt is cheap in price and all around, my evo may have weighed a ton but i walked my buddys 08 cobalt with intake front mount and exhaust they are just known to make power oh yea and they just look sick

the only evo interior that is nice on the MR trim level anything else sucks, and i only like the evo x interior the 8 & 9 dash boards look cheap to me in my opinion

the sti's interior has never impressed me and the seats suck especially in the wide bodies they are so thin.

the reasoning i see people choosing them over the balt is the fact they are awd and have a bigger aftermarket so its easier to make 400+ out of them

the s2k is just a fun car to drive i actually was going to get one instead of the ss but it wasn't as practical of a car for me

the main reasons i picked the cobalt was for the fact, i got tired of searching for a car after my accident in my rx8, it was cheap, better on gas, and fairly quick, and the turbo model isn't that common in my area, if i didn't get in my accident i wouldn't own one to be honest

Love my Cobalt, my next car will be something more grown up through. I like EVOs and STIs but just like the Cobalt they're a boys car. They look juvenile and young so I'm not buying another car until I can afford a Boss 302 or Taurus SHO Ecoboost. Or something else along those lines.
