Are you referring to Eagle F1 Supercar tires? If so...they are great stuff...and if you can find them decently priced in the right size...do it.

Although I think the only size they offer for a 17 inch rim is like a 265/40...and that's a no go...the closest sizes they offer for our stock rims is either 235/45, or 225/45, or 245/45.

After my stock Conti's wore out I installed Goodyear Eagle F1's if thats what you are talking about. With my mods, they stick pretty well, but with the extra boost in second gear it will smoke the tires from about 40-60mph in second gear, but I like that lol. I went to buy the BFGoodrich KDW-2's but was talked into these cuz they were like 80 bucks cheaper, and they have a lot better treadware rating. 420AA rather then 300AA (I think) on the BFG's

You have the F1 All seasons or the F1 Supercar tires?...cuz the Supercar ones are expensive as **** nu matter where you go...KDW prices aren't even close to F1 Supercars in our size.

Eagle F1's aren't that good of a tire. You can buy a much better tire for less! Try looking at Nitto NT-05's, Dunlop star specs, and kuhmo xs..

Check out tirerack.com, they have a bunch of reviews on all brands of tires and comparisons..

I know...C&D...but there's no Volkswagen brand tires to choose from (otherwise they would choose those) so it's a pretty honest straight forward comparison...uh oh...Goodyear F1s at the top of the list...and you say they're not that good?...also the tire from the factory on certain Ferrari's (along with Pirelli P-Zeros) ..so..they're pretty damn good I would assume.

I was saying for the price of the tire it's not with it. Sorry I trust tirerack alot more than C&D considering that tirerack has a test track on their facility for testing. I have raced on the F1's and many other tires, the F1's aren't worth the money.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...y.jsp?ttid=118

These 4 tires are all very good street and race tires.

Oh, btw, the tires in the C&D comparison aren't that good either. I know my tires, I have been autoxing and road racing for awhile now and have tried different brands and raced many different cars. Eagle F1s are not a good race tire.

Of the 4 in that particular comparison...which would you choose?

(Here's another one from Tire Rack with the F1)
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...ay.jsp?ttid=98

I don't understand how they categorize their performance ratings...but from what I can tell...Max Performance > Extreme Performance...

I mean I certainly don't doubt your judgment and experience...but the OP did say price wasn't an issue so i don't see why the F1 isn't a great tire to choose...Outstanding wet and dry handling (according to tirerack and many others)...and most of all...cool looking

on tirerack, extreme is better than max. Don't you know? Nothings better than EXTREME!! lol

but seriously, out of those 4 tires, I would choose the dunlops just cause of the price. The RE-11s are a great tire but it is very expensive! Until the price goes down I'll consider them. Don't feel like buying a set of those every season, since I usually go through a set of tires a season.

I'm not saying that the F1s are bad tires, their just not the best for the money. They do look cool though!

I'm interested in how the new Hankook RS-3s are gonna perform..

Oh my bad I was looking at "Ultra High Performance Summer" not Extreme...whoops...they have so many different categories! Too bad tire rack doesn't deal with Nitto tires...or at least not that I can find.

Good call, except for the fact that that test is from December 2005......
