Yep, exactly!! Just an overpriced econo-car with a big wing!!
That looks like SO much fun!! I'd be afraid to do anything like that with my car... with my luck and with the car being so cheaply made I'd likely break something!! LOL

Exactly! It's a Cobalt, not an M6, an Audi RS6, or a Lambo for that matter. These are budget minded cars, no matter how well you take care of it, it WILL depreciate. I suppose you could say I was simply trying to beat the clock. You only live once, right?

To answer the statement on the mudflaps, those are actually nice flaps I purchased with a red chevy bowtie on them. They are fiber rienforced rubber. I bought them for winter time, but made sure to put them on in a hurry prior to this event. As you can see, I still got PLENTY dirty though.

The mud course only yielded one particular spot that I was worried about, a shallow dip which would lead you right back up an incline, in short enough distance that my front lip actually 'scooped up' some of the mud. You can see the evidence on the 3/4 view picture.

The side exit never clogged up thankfully, but I was throttling it pretty hard at times so I would imagine it probably just 'spit' everything out in short order.

Battle scars = character ftw!

Good job man. Way to drive the car. I took mine up "trails" before cause of a party/free beer at the top. Done good just avoided the ruts. Looks like a blast there tho.

I would never ever do that-

LOL at people saying its just a cobalt.....

In the grand scheme of the automobile world, sure, our $25,000 turbalts may not be that expensive......but... its still a 25,000$ machine that I am purchasing and paying off.

Its not like taking your 500$ beater out there.........

regardless, it looks fun and props for not getting stuck. LOL at the helmet.....

Thanks for the input man, I appreciate your opinion and agree with it mostly. While this car is about the most I can comfortably afford in my budget, I would hate for anything to happen to it. But I always say to each his own.

By the way, hate to burst your bubble..but I picked up my 08 Turbalt SS with 110 miles on the odometer April of this year for $16,500.

I completely understand how this kind of senseless activity would probably seem 'stuped' to most owners out there....or is it spelled 'stupid'? LOL

Anyways, it's your car, so do what you want with it and I will respect your decision.

Believe me, before the next weekend I had that thing back to a mirror finish, vacuumed, cleaned between all the spokes, and cleaned all my glass. Then it was good as new! The mudflaps helped cut down on some of the flying debris I think. Anyways, SS's are built to take a beating now and again

Just a heads up, its harder on your car auto crossing it and drag racing it then what he did. he probably didnt even hit 40 mph doing that.

Nice run OP, looked like fun

But the constant strain on the engine and trans... the constant spinning and high revs. I'm pretty sure he didn't just go threw everything at 2k in 3rd gear. I think it would have been a blast!! Thats for sure.
