Unbelievable Deal!!

For anyone wanting to buy a "New" Cobalt SS turbocharged; you MUST check this deal out. I am actually going to be picking one up on Saturday because the Deal is so crazy. There is a dealirship in Westlake Ohio (Pat O'Brien Chevy) that has a surplus of those 08 Cobalt SS's that are "Wind damaged." He has about 13-14 left I think (One of which has a sold sign with my name on it). They are fully loaded (LSD, Sunroof, Pioneer, etc..) except that some don't have the High Rise wing, like the one I will be getting. They are ALL priced at just $16,500 and all have right around 125 miles on them because I think they were all just driven to this dealership from the Lordstown Plant. The one I am getting has 142 miles on it. So if you are looking for a "New" Cobalt SS T/C for a phenominal price...then pick up one of these while they still last. I'm going to try and squeeze a few hundred more dollars out of them to and see just how low I can get it. I'll let you all know exactly how low I get the thing for. I'll make up some sob story since it doesn't have a Paint Warranty due to the "wind damage" and see If I can't get it to like 15,500.

I was so bent on getting either a Speed3 or a CSRT4 that I really hadn't considered this car...then I saw the price tag was marked down nearly 10,000 from it's sticker last year and I couldn't resist!!

CarMax also had quite a few 08-09 SS/TC's under $20,000 sale price. I checked with every dealer in the area and they wouldn't budge on the prices, so I am skeptical about a new SS/TC for $16,500.

I thought it was a joke to because I remembered seeing them for 19,500 at his dealership back when he had like 30 of them to spare. Then I called to verify when I saw this price and I will be trading in my big dumb gas guzzling Chevy Blazer for one of these babies. He has a bunch of black ones that I saw (mine will be black for sure), a sport-red one and a few silver ones from what I remember. Although the interior on both other cars I was considering (Speed3 or CSRT4) was waaaayyy nicer...I like saving money more than I like a nice interior...and when it's saving A LOT of money...I like it even more!

It's probably true...I got my '08 for a similar deal back in 12/2008, so if these aren't selling and also have the "wind damage" issue...they probably need to get rid of them...

It was in response to 1WhiteSS's post about $18k SS/TC's everywhere.

I just ran a check on Cars.com for Victory Red SS/TC's, the lowest price is $19k-$20k in the entire CONUS.

Bought my "wind damaged" 08 TC @ Sundance Chevy in Grand Ledge,Mi. in Dec. for $18,700 fully loaded-I got the feeling I may have been able to do even better(asking price was $20,900) but.......mine has full paint/body warranty because it was actually sent back to GM and repainted The paint warranty is rather comprehensive as I remember-maybe there are others out there with full warranty;Sundance had a Sport red also...GM sold these @ auction in Michigan-apparrently O'brien picked up a shitload. good luck!

My factory ordered SS/TC coupe will be almost $23k USD out the door (fully loaded sans spare tire, GMS - employee discount)

All of the SS/TC Coupes in the area are about $21k-$22k out the door w/ the GM Employee discount.

I haven't found any wind damaged / Maaco painted SS/TC's yet.

I've wanted one of these cars for so long.

I have only drove a 170hp G6. Im new to driving a stick, and i'm new to having a fast car, but I did my research, and i've wanted this car for 2 years now. -300$ monthly payments for 5 years with 1.9%.

They are giving these cars away. The car stickers at 25 something, and I'm taking it home for 17,770. They are also ending my lease 5 months early, and waving all the payments.

2 days till I own a black sedan ss....

I looked into this, just make sure you do all the math on the deal. Mainly, you get much better finance rates with a new car vs used. And I am sure those are considered used, warranty clock is already ticking on them too. I just checked Chevrolet.com, 0% for 60months for "most models" So some rough numbers....

16500 + 8% tax = 17820
17820 60mo loan at 7% = 21,171.44
I heard of guys getting 09's for 24 OTD

So we're talking 24k vs 21,161

Now consider the following....
08 vs 09 resale
No programmable display
No USB/bluetooth radio
Those wind damaged cars are considered used warranty started roughly 9/08
Might not get the exact colors/options
Possible travel expenses

Still a good deal, just not exactly "unbelievable" (No offense to the OP)

My fully loaded SS/TC order came to $24k GMS, but when you add tax, plates, and the rebate (or rather subtract the rebate), it is about a hair below $23k out the door. I would say this is probably the most expensive way to buy/order a SS/TC but I want it a certain way with the options I want, nothing I don't want.

I bought the one and only 08 SS/TC at my local Chevy stealership. After cashback and special financing, which really didnt pertain to me anyways because I went to my local Bank, I got my 08 with 45 miles on it for 21.5k, and for 5 years the payment is just over $300 a month. There was a Chevy stealership in Nashville that had about 10 wind damages 08's, they had them for about 4 months or so and now they're all gone. They were on sale for 18k or so.
