"Wind Damaged" means that they were in a storm and no longer have a warranty on the paint only. All other warranties are good to go! I went over every square inch of the one I got and couldn't find a single scratch or imperfection..although there were a few out there with VERY minor scratches...like a centimeter in length at most. Great deal and with my trade and cash down...plus perfect credit...I'm paying as much for the car as for insurance lol!!

Here's a thread talking about it:
http://forums.motivemag.com/zerothre...int&id=4271204
They said that the cars were listed as being damaged by hail so they're being sold as used cars.

here is what is not covered by the warranty based on the labor codes listed under the warranty block:
exterior paint and clear coat
body panels (corrosion)
windshield replacement
all door glass replacement
rear window (backlight) replacement
headlight/foglight aim
headlight capsule/foglight replacement
side markers lights replacement
tailight/backup replacement
CHMSL replacement
license plate light replacement
upper/lower grille replacement
spoiler replacement
all emblems replacement
air inlet grille panel replacement
molding, roof to quarter at weld joint replacement
body side molding replacement
fuel filler door replacement
fascia, upper/lower front/rear replacement
for some reason the sideview mirror and housing, wipers/nozzles are covered. YAY!

The money you save right from the lot will not = the total savings by getting 0% loan. People don't realize how much 0% loans save. I personally would rather buy a "non-damaged' brand new SS/TC for 19k with special financing then a SS/TC with no specials and wind damage for 16k. Take a look on the long run. Most of the time, the way the loans are set up, you pay tons of interest in the beginning. Now, if you could get 0-1% loan on a "wind damaged" SS/TC then it is worth it in my opinion.

I've had factory paint delaminate from the hood and top on other cars. Luckily the factory warranty covered the paint.
GM is offering $2500 or 0% financing on new 2009's, I'd take the $2500 rebate based on the low interest rates we're seeing with money market / CD / savings accounts.

I looked into this, just make sure you do all the math on the deal. Mainly, you get much better finance rates with a new car vs used. And I am sure those are considered used, warranty clock is already ticking on them too. I just checked Chevrolet.com, 0% for 60months for "most models" So some rough numbers....
16500 + 8% tax = 17820
17820 60mo loan at 7% = 21,171.44
I heard of guys getting 09's for 24 OTD
So we're talking 24k vs 21,161
Still a good deal, just not exactly "unbelievable" (No offense to the OP)

Depending on how much a person drives, the "wind damaged" car is almost like getting free gas for the term of the loan!

I sell in Canada, we can buy these " wind damaged " cars too, but choose not to, simple reason. I purchased mine...factory order for 24K out the door, this is CAD dollar...the math is good and that deal is great.....MSRP 28,800 all options but sunroof.

I got it knowing that i will more than likely pay it off in less than a year so i didnt really care about not getting the 0% interest because i will only be paying interest on a year of payments plus there is no pre-pay penalty if i pay it off early!

The dealer I ordered mine from had a 08 Imperial Blue one loaded! I took it home for the night. It was peppered on the driver's side. Windows, wheels, etc. They were told it happened in the storage lot as a result of one of the hurricanes from last summer/fall. I just couldn't pull the trigger on a damaged "new" vehicle. Wasn't wild about the color either.

Did anyone buy one of those 08 cobalts with a voided paint warranty? I bought a brand new car recently and the car had scratches on it. The dealer put in writing to buff out the scratches all over my car and In doing so voided my paint and corrosion warranty ( not a chevy and not in ohio) . I am looking for someone who would be willing to share a copy of the original sales contract or write a notorized statement so I could prove how much my brand new car has been depreciated by the dealer. Any help would be greatly appreciated! my email is cswan0526@yahoo.com
