Water in Engine Possibly....please help!!!!

I have an 09 cobalt and it wont start. I had an AEM intake system on it and I think I may have sucked up some water through it. Some days it starts and other days it doesnt start. Sometimes when i drive it it loses boost or when I shift it makes a fluttering noise and the boost wont go past 4 psi. The dealer said to change my air filter and it should fix the problem. I just installed the K&N Typhoon system on it. It ran fine that night I put it on, but the very next morning it wouldnt start. If anybody has any suggestions on what the problem could be I would appreciate it.

I'm guessing its not water, from what I've heard on multiple forums in the SRI/CAI debate, is basically that your whole filter has to be submerged before you suck up a damaging amount of water, is it in limp mode when doing this?

It means your power is severely restricted to prevent as much additional damage as possible allowing you to limp it to a dealer to be fixed.

You didn't damage the sensor when you installed the intake did you? Those wires can be fragile.

Any codes?
When did this start? Was it right after a rain?
Did your MAF get water on it?
Does it only flutter after you shift?

Put air box on and take to another dealer. This will get the problem solved right away.

its been on and off for almost a month now. At first i didnt think anything of it. It has rained alot lately but i dont floor it through puddles or anything. And it only flutters when i shift. And its not all the time. One day it will drive normal, the next day it will not start and the next itll flutter and lose boost.

just bc u dont floor it in puddles doesnt mean ur filter and sensor isnt wet and has got in ur engine.

it rained like 10 inches here and i didnt drive it till the day after it was over and got water in my engine or atleast my filter and sensor

how did you end up fixing it. Did it cause your car to not start and flutter when you shift?
