Today I was getting off the highway and all the sudden the enigne just shut off, and wouldnt crank back up. No codes, no messages on the DIC, but the oil light was on and I just changed the oil 3 weeks ago. Checked the oil and it was filled to the right level. It tried to crank and finally after like 5 times I got it to start then it was driving fairly normal, the only thing I noticed is the revs took long to drop down, but then that went away and then the car was fine WTF? Any clues? Mods are in my sig.
I had something along these lines happen to me yesterday, was getting on the highway, and all the sudden my car started losing power and the display said ESC service or something. I got off on the side of the road, shut my car off and started it back up. Then the CEL was on like you sai. I proceeded to start driving again and car ran fine. I had it parked for a few hours and then when I started it up again, the CEL wasn't on anymore. Car has been running fine since.

The answer is yes the car looks at OIL PRESSURE, anything below 6psi kills the car unless it is cranking.
The problem I believe has to do with one of three things, either A. your TB isn't working correctly (it is a sealed electronic controlled unit) two you have wiring that is shorting or three. An engineering error in the construction of the oil gallery of this engine series. I had similar problems taking an exit a couple months ago, while stopped making my turn my oil light was on...I waited a couple minutes and it cranked right up with no actual explanation. I also experienced the same thing coming into pits to get my timeslip, I have a mind to run a mechanical gauge and bleed it while it's happening to see if there is air in the pressure side.

OR....
Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus. ........Then killed your car.
Seriously thou ... I've had a bunch of phanton..... one and done DTC's since buying this car . They pop once then don't return .

Yea, when you called me and told me that, I was thinking that it lost pressure, (it dropped severly) & your engine shut down to protect itself. That would be my guess... But it's just really weird.
Maybe it's those Phantom Stickers................................
