what would you do???

so i did this on the Caliber SRT-4 forums to see what people would do if they were in my situation. so now i want to see what you Cobalt SS guys would do if you were in my position.

so begginging of March on way home in the snow storm i totaled my Caliber SRT-4 (with driving, not tooling around). so i have the insurance check and other money i have saved. i have test drove many cars such as 370z, cobalt ss, evo x, civic si, mazdaspeed3, etc.... now i have come down to either anther Caliber SRT-4 or the Cobalt SS.....

if you guys totaled your Cobalt SS would you go back to another Cobalt SS??? or would you try something different???

comments please
thanks, Craig

The SS's are puting down 300hp with just a tune, so i would prolly get a cobalt ss if i totaled my sport , we can only pray though lol. Sry to hear about your first car.

If i was in your situation, I would definetly consider another SS/TC....so far it has been a problem free and very quick car with the tune.

I would also be looking into a BMW 135i coupe.....those are some great cars.....but the price is signifigantly higher.

No it isnt its been stated on previous posts they are keeping all the old SS and V models for rite now instead of implementing new models. The 2010 model will come standard with RPD and Sunroof. As Well as a new color.

I would for sure go back with the cobalt ss/tc. I got the trifecta tune for $250 and I dynoed in at 307 whp. You cannot beat that for an intake and a tune.

The handleing is top notch with this car as can be saw with the times that GM showed around the "ring". Boost lag seems non existant in this car except for times being in the 4th and puncing it from a low RPM but this is from not being in the power band so not really turbo lag. Gas mileage with the tune is around 29 city 35 highway for me.

I know for sure I would go with another cobalt because well I did. I fiirst had an SS/SC with stage 2, full exhaust and some other various mods put about $2000 in the car and ran a 14.2 at 98 at a 2000ft track (I live in the moutains). I went to a sport tint coat red ss/tc have the mods as mentioned above (about $460 in mods compared to $2000 with the other) and ran a 13.9 at 104.80 again at a high elevation track this also was with a shitty 2.390 60' You cannot beat this car for the money at all. You will really enjoy it.

N/P man. I know you may think that was a slow time but for the track I am at stock camaro's with LT1's run mid to low 14's so I was very very impressed with my 13.9 at such a high trap speed.

Obivously u people dont understand anything about cars in general

1. I would never buy a ss/sc ever again because they can only get 280whp
2. turbo ftw
3. fwd ftl
5. there are way too many used cars on the market, rwd and awd turbo that are well worth the money.

For some reason, I have a rule of not buying the same car twice...

I kind of agree with BKcobalt, especially #5, though his #4 seems to have run away...

troll? Thats all opinionated
Ur right because everybody knows fwd is better than rwd and awd

and supercharged LSJ makes away more power than turbo

Oh yeah and theres not alot of used good cars rwd and awd that arent better than cobalt ss/sc or ss/tc.

Ur right? How bout ya right? lol

yea i have the feeling that the SRT-4 is faster but the steering in the SS was stiffer and idk felt so tight. i plan on doing the GMstage 1 pretty much ordering that as soon as i get the car, since i just read it is coming out within 90 days lol.

you weren't specifying what about then was good, just FTW FTW FTW. So yeah, opinionated.

I actually chose my SS/SC over a TC.
