id stay with the cobalt for sure... or a G8 GT if i could find a good price
Calibers are nice looking... but when i test drove it it was too heavy and awkward where as the cobalt is just more fun and feels sporty... but still get better milage if you want to

Mini Cooper S.My wife has a convertible S and I love driving that more than my SS, which I just got last week. That car is probably the most fun car I have ever driven, even my Miatas.

Inside has a better layout? There is no difference between my LS inside and SS inside besides a different shifter and ss badge

i have nothing against buying the same car twice.....to me its how confortable you feel being in another ss after totaling one in my opinion. personally the only other cars i would buy that are out right now are the sti and evo.

They have already said that they r keeping the cobalt for 2010... they are taking out the sedan but keeping the coupe but basicly making it fully loaded from factory.
Id look at the 2010 mazdaspeed 3... they are nice too, have yet to drive one or even see one actually... dunno if they r shipped yet
And personally... if i didnt have to worry about winter driving or didnt care if i bought used... i woulda taken a 350z easily if i could find the right price

Correct me if I'm wrong but his asking should he buy a cobalt ss/tc or something else? So everybody agrees that a cobalt ss/tc is the best car to buy period 18-25 grand (depending) on things. LOL that's stupid. there are better cars for that price, unless ur a chevy fan buy it.

I don't see how brand new there is a better buy performance wise? Hell you could probably get an ss/tc for 20 I know you can because I did on mine with the LSD option as well. Its all in preference but I believe a turbo 4 banger with the economy the way it is and not knowing if prices of gas are going to fluctuate its your best bet.

hey... dont ask us.. go test drive them back to back and make a list of the likes and dislike you have with each car... When you finally sit down, look at both lists and find which has a bigger dislike list, which ever car fits you best is the one you should buy. But i don't think you will be upset with whatever decision you make considering your gonna be buying a brand new car. And even if i got a brand new kia i would be excited because its still a new car

I would go with the 370 personally, but choosing between the caliber and the ss I would choose the ss hands down.

yeah, no boost gauge(or the fish finder thing), or SS seats, or the 160 instead of 120 on the speedo, or the huge power gain.... nope.... just the SS badge...

Me and my best friend bought our cars about a month apart, he bought an 08 subaru STi leftover, i got an 09 SS sedan, performance wise they are very compairable, and i'm not about flat footing a car under 1k miles, and even after that i wont just because i'm sure letting off is better for your ****, but for the $$ its almost DUMB to buy an STi (34k window i believe, not sure but its around there) over the SS (i got mine for 21.8k with everything but the display) i'm sure if i sank another 12k into this thing it would be a rocket that nothing could touch, or i could make my interior WAY nicer than the sti. Off topic a little cause the STi isnt on your list.
The regular WRX has the same engine, not quite as nice with the inteligent mode/sport mode and the differential controls and all that stuff, but, if you upgrade to the same turbo as the sti, its going to be as fast as the sti for around 28... thats compairable... but agian, 5-6k goes a long way....

i raced a caliber srt4 in erie, i think he let off at about 80, but it was from a dead stop and i was walking away the whole run, it had 400 miles on it and i was shifting at 5000rpm..... not to mention the srt is a half SUV looking thing, i would think it handles like crap, BUT simple mods would make it easily quicker than my SS in a straight ling. Honestly, i have ZERO regrets about buying this car, i wouldent have even looked twice if it wasent for the 4 door(im 23 with a 2 year old) and being as fast as the coupe i dont see why anyone would buy it over the sedan, if they are REALLY getting rid of the sedan after 1 year, i would pony up and get one now, sounds like a rare model to me, there was only like 10 in pennsylvania for sale when i was getting mine, and there was like 25 coupes.... read the reviews, stock performace, your not gonna get a better deal then the SS.
PERIOD.

Eh...what are you going for? I mean if you didn't like the boring plastic interior on the Caliber you will HATE the interior on the Cobalt...but if Power and performance is all you care about I'd certainly consider the Cobalt because I know the Caliber can reach 500+whp on stock internals blah blah blah...but really who wants all that out of a DAILY DRIVER FWD car (Especially one with a LSD that wears down the breaks every time you use it)? The Cobalt is certainly fun as he11 to drive and the 22/30 mpg rating they give it is WAY underrated but if you’re going for more refinement I may try a Speed3 or possibly wait till the end of the year and go with the MKVI or almost any of the others you had mentioned. Don’t get me wrong I like my Cobalt…but I don’t LOVE it. I wish my dash pieces fit with my center console pieces, I wish my steering wheel buttons didn’t squeak and feel like they are falling off every time I push a button, I wish I couldn’t hear the wind coming through my door seals at 65mph, and I wish the right side of my dash and my center console didn’t rattle…and I’ve only got 1,600 miles on the car I can’t wait till I hit 10,000!!! As soon as I’m down to only owing $5,000 on the car (probably next spring) I’ll be going elsewhere for my pocket rocket needs…probably a car with a bit more class/refinement and a little less…rubbermaid…even if it is at the expense of some power. But if All you're into is power then I suppose it comes down to... To drive a hatch or not to drive a hatch? (I personnally LOVE hatches)

oh i did drive both cars i had big things i liked about the SS and big things i liked about the SRT4.. and smae with dislikes.

i was just seeing if you guys that drive them everyday liked them that you would go back to them or decide to go different..

i drove the speed 3.... hated it. not much pick up and people on mazda forums are blowing motors bucause they are a good car to keep stock.... motors cant take much

yea but if you and the SRT4 raced from a 45 mph roll no offence but he woulda been the one walking... but only because the turbo on the caliber is a decent amount bigger than the SS is

I was by no means bad mouthing the Caliber (I actually like that car a lot better). I was just saying...if power is what you're going for...then why switch it up? the Caliber SRT is a monster platform to work off of and maybe someday RealTune will release the Mechanical LSD for sale to the public (The one they designed and put on their 11 second rocket). Plus...CARGO SPACE up the wazoo!! However if you're looking for refinement or class...neither of the 2 are really big winners.

My personal preference would be the SS/TC. Best bang for the buck out there. I don't like the Caliber styling myself, but that's just opinion. I do know the SS is considerably quicker. I am having brake issues with my SS right now that are frustrating, but I love the car. And don't forget the cool bonus things like the bluetooth and USB stereo. I would definately buy another one. Oh, the 370 is an awesome car, but I need more than two seats sometimes.

I got a 06 Yellow ss/sc i am trading it in for the exact same color ss/tc. Maybe i am crazy i like em. I looked at the dodges. But after my gf bought a 50,000 $ truck from them and its been in the shop about 2 months out of this year with all this ****. And then a couple times it came back with damage done to it from the shop. **** That. I phoned chrysler and they said they couldnt do anything its not their company. I dont give a **** you supply them with goods and they sell it. You just lost a lifetime customer for the cost of 500$ in repairs that you didnt fix. Sure looks like they are smart. .... lose 500 now gain 1000's later. I wouldn't go with the dodge.. but thats my opinion just because the **** i had happen at my dealership doesnt mean they are all crap. But **** that.
