why do you like it loud?

I have read alot of people want their exhaust louder, their turbo louder,i guess i just don't get it.A 4 cyl will never have a muscle sound,so why fight it?

I love the sleeperness of the soft sound.I don't know how many cars i have already pulled on because they were'nt expecting it.Fun car in a quiet package.

Not so much on the exhaust, but why wouldn't you want a loud S/C or turbo?

cause everyone always has to ask me "why the **** does your car have to be so loud?" lol. btw i have a cat-less 3 inch downpipe and megan cat-back. that **** is deafening. and technically my car still is a sleeper, cause everyone thinks cobalts are a slow POS lol. but you should have seen the guys face when i pulled his 390awhp evo9 by half a car. he couldnt believe it

I don't necessarily want loud, I just want a nice tone (hello Injen CAI...)

can't stand fart cans but there are some nice sounding exhausts for our cars (like GMPP touring)... it's not always about volume. besides, I4s may not be V8s but that doesn't mean they sound bad... they have their own tone.

mostly the little kids want a loud exhaust. i have a full exhaust, but did it for the power and gas mileage, the noise is just a by product. i would never get an exhaust just because i wanted a loud car. if i could keep my power gain and mileage gain and sound stock i'd do it in a hearbeat.

Yeah I think sound is the number one attention getter if you are on the street lookin for
fun.hey I mean it's not like I race anything with wheels on it or anything If you don't have exhaust a lot of times people look at you funny like with an are you serious look .. BUT this isn't grandmas civic hand me down. SO I feel it deserves a nice exhaust note to make it feel more like a performance machine .. I have a Vance & Hines on my bike and it will make your chest hurt Also it's easier to tell what is going on with the motor etc if you can hear and feel the exhaust in certain situations. not like knock but you get the drift...

Hey,

Not about loud exhaust. I'm more of the moderate type. I like my Hahn 3" and how after 1800rpm the sound grows out of nowhere. I hate fart cans that even at idle its ridiculous. Sitting in a Honda with those are annoying as hell constantly ringing your ears. I like a moderate sound and prefer like mentioned above gains plus mileage over sound any day. Why is every honda so loud? They produce more noise than Hp, lol.

i hate the sound of almost all 4 cylinder engines with aftermarket cat-back exhausts. I refuse to do a catback on my SS because of the annoying vibrations and noise that I've witnessed in other cobalt SS. I did put an aftermarket header and dp on for performance reasons but it didnt make it discernably louder.

I went through the noise thing when i was a teenager. had 2 J-bodys with full exhausts, engine, and tranny mounts. loud as hell and when I heard what the cars sounded like outside, I realized how crappy and annoying that sound was.

however, a v8 with a well tuned exhaust = secks

I'd rather mine be quieter. I'll save the noise for my next v8. Of course the same setup as my camaro had. longtubes, offroad y pipe, corsa catback. loud but quickness to match.

Oh no? You'd be surprised what a set of cams will do to a turbo 4 cylinder engine.
