I don't understand how people don't miss their Cobalts. I know it's not the best car. I know I will trade it in/sell it and I even have a few cars in mind that will be options which will be better all around and worth the extra cost but I know I will miss the great package the Cobalt offers for the price/running cost.
When mine was down, I had to drive an automatic mazda 3... definately missed my car and have pretty much decided on keeping it and building a monster out of it. I was going to buy a boss or a roush or a new zl-1 this year or next, but there's really no point when I can build this car to be faster than all of those with less money. Rwd would be nice, but I'll still get more fuel economy than a rwd V8 too. Still.. V8 and rwd is pure sex done right, but when gas prices go south in the next year or two, I'll still be able to drive my car! lol just my 2 cents.
That Aveo guy is totally crazy, but he's damn good at it haha. He did almost bite her a couple of times though. What is that.. Arabian Tokyo drift or what?

WHY!!! Most girls are soooooo terrible at maintaining cars. I used to hate when my gf would ask me stuff abOut her car. I'd be like how long it been like that? " a couple weeks" usually what I get. Her sister drive her jeep till the oil came out in chunks lol. Her mom and dad are terrible too but at least I see where she ges it from .
My sedan has definately been the most fun car I've ever owned. What downs me about it, is all of the parts I've had to replace due to poor quality or possible bad luck. I don't beat on mine by any means and it's 100% stock (DD). The Best description for me is it's been an Emotional Rollercoaster slowly making it's way down. If it wasn't for this forum and all the great information I would of gave up on it a long time ago. I'm staying strong! *Tears* haha
My girlfriends pretty good at looking up stuff on her 2005 dodge neon through car forums. She even found out she can get codes from her dash by some pedal mashing sequence. How awesome is that!? The code actually comes up on her dash, google, replace. Diagnosed a camshaft position sensor that way and didn't have to pay the dealer the extra cash. Why don't all cars have this feature...
Just Proof that Aveo's handle better for drifting than 240sx's. LOL JKJK

I had a base model HHR as a rental when my cobalt was getting the ignition replaced. I loved how much storage space it had, I could just throw whatever I wanted in the back seat and trunk. I liked the interior, and the fact that I could take a dip at 45 mph and not worry about scraping. It got great gas mileage too. Now the downsides, it felt really unstable at any speed over 70mph, and if I took a turn any faster than 20 I thought I was going to topple over. It also had no top end...whatsoever. I'd still most definitely consider it as a DD though. I also kind of treat my cobalt like a mini closet, I have a red fleece blanket that I keep in there year round(for random beach trips), a few pairs of heels, shirts, bags of stuff from when I went shopping, and the trunk has a bunch of car parts. It is still clean though!
only half way there still

It is real, there are a ton of videos just like it on youtube, just search "arab drifting." Basically a bunch of ignorant ****** with unreal car control that hopefully die very soon without killing any of the innocent people whose lives they put in danger. They can be seen doing that around school buses while shooting assault rifles. Thank god we live in a country where life is held to a higher importance than where these videos are shot.
BOTH of my grandfathers and my father were NOT the least bit a fan of that. I learned basic car repair and maintenance, basic electrical, basic plumbing, and basic carpentry in junior high school. WANTED to learn basic welding at school, but the school wouldn't allow girls to take metal shop so I got tossed into "home economics" instead.
That and girls get the message that doing a "man's" work around the house = not feminine. And a good chunk of society reiterates that stereotype too. One summer I offered to help dig the trenches for my mom's sprinkler system while she and her boyfriend were at work. In 6 hours of work, I had no less than 4 men stop and tell me that I should get inside and leave the "real" work to my "husband" before I "screw something up." It's the same thing now, if there's some contractor or someone wandering around the neighborhood fishing for business, no matter what I'm doing, they ask for my husband first. Don't have one. Well, boyfriend, or "man of the house." I'm it. Well, the homeowner or landlord then. Uh, JUST ME. I bought the home and I own the home. I mean they'll keep going on to, is your father around, well, who do you call if you have a leaky faucet, do you have a general contractor or handyman?
So I mean, yeah, a LOT of it is learned helplessness, and for those of us that grew up and learned to enjoy doing work for ourselves and find it satisfying, we don't give a **** what other people think. Keep in mind though, the general feedback from society is NOT pretty towards a woman doing "man work." I get that the whole "Get back in the kitchen and make me a sammich" thing is mostly guys joking around, but ya gotta understand there's a surprisingly LARGE segment of society (men AND women) that firmly believe in it and aren't afraid to let us know our place if we do something "out of line."
man these videos are crazy lol ive driven other peoples cars and rentals and they just feel as responsive to me, maybe because there's no boost but the only time i wouldnt miss my car is if i had an Evo. tuned because they have bad lag

Lol @ Alleycat58's story. My girlfriend read it over my shoulder and agree's with you. Now I feel bad for not helping out inside the house enough
@ That aveo drift thing video. Gawd damn is that some nuts. Is that a person hanging out the window the whole time? How does his top torso not come apart at the G forces :p So many close calls it's hard to believe they do this often.

i totally agree with missing the balt.... at least your able to go back and get in the seat and drive.... i lost my balt to a bad accident early last year... since then i have retained salvage and in hopes to one day being able to enjoy it again.... i found it incrediblely tough to go from a decent sports cars to a 4 dr civic base model.... to this day i hate the pos and unfortunately still driving it....
i miss going on long drives in it, i miss tinkering with it, and most of all i miss the feelings i got from stepping in the gas.... for those who complain about these cars and moan and gripe.... i dont understand how? what did you own a vette previously? all i am saying is these cars are not the best however very enjoyable to drive... they are a high quality car in all areas of cars.... great handling, power, appearence, and interiors.... very comparable to anything in its class.... i believe none of you will ever appreciate how enjoyable these cars are til you loose yours.... unfortunately i hate to see it happen to anyone.... the one thing nobody ever mentions about cobalts is its strength in its unibody.... truth to be told even if my air bags did not deploy, due to a malfuntion, the car saved mine and my sons life.... if i was driving a cavy or something else i may not be here to make this post.... it did its job in a rear crumple zone... to this day i stare at it and wish it wasnt sitting in my backyard all messed up....
i read once when i first posted in css.net that not many cars repay you with a smile unlike these ones.... it was 100% correct.....
i sure smile everytime i heard it whine.....
thats a statement i believe anyone can agree with....
