Question 09 SS/TC Exhaust

Lately i have been finding that the stock exhausr is a little too quiet for my liking. I dont want some huge fart can loke this hondas that soinds like raspy crap and so loud ypi can hear it a mile away. I just want a bit more soind . especially at idle. I was thinkong about either the muffler delete. Or buying a nice sounding muffler and replace the stock one with it. Which ever one would sound better without being too loud. But i have no idea what size exhaustvis on a sstc? And is there any hp gains at all to a miffler delete or replacing the stocked with say a borla or a magnaflow?

No hp gains by just replacing the muffler on the SS/TC.

Piping is 2.5" after the resonator.

Replacing the whole exhaust if I remember was less than 5HP so cost per HP is ridiculous.

But the muffler delete sucks if you ever sell the car.

For sound you might like just adding a catless dp or doing both a dp and muffler delete

I need a cat for my region by law for inspection. So the muffler delete sucks sound wise? Almost sounds like maybe getting a 2.5 inch borla might be the best idea . sonits 2.5 inch where the muffler bolts up. So i get a center to center inlet and outlet ? Or one of them off set ?

If i remember right our exaust on te lnf's are 2.5 all the way, and the muffler is a straight thru type with a couple baffles.

We also have a resignator somewhere that helps with the raspyness a bit, but i think it also cancels out the idle rpms aswell.

Im getting a catless downpipe in the mail sometime this week from zzp, they also sell a highflow cat that gives a signifigant increase in sound over the stock one with two... TWO cats.
Id look at your regional exaust regulations and what your allowed, you may be able to get a highflow cat from zzp.

If your only ob2 checked you will be fine with either catless or high flow cat. If you get visual inspection then yeah your screwed

Will the muffler delete section zzp sells work on the factory stoxk exhaust ? If i cut my muffler off and put on the zzp 2.5" muffler delete they make. Or would i need the 3" one they sell. Im just hoping they line up .

Why not just get a custom exhaust done.. A good exhaust shop should be able to help you out without removing a cat.
The dollar is so bad that a custom catback may be way cheaper locally.

The Canadian dollar is so bad due to low oil prices per barrel. As well as a faltering economy. High inflation as well as a slew of other problems ******* not only Canada. But pretty much every country ! I know the piece would cost me a few extra dollars. But I am more interested to know if it would fit and line up at all. I'm not to interested in doing a full custom exhaust. I would rather replace my stock muffler with an aftermarket one for a bit of extra sound. Or delete the whole thing, My stock muffler makes a fair amount of rattling. There must be a loose baffle inside of it I would think. That's the only reason I really want to replace it, So while I am at it I figured I would try to get a little extra sound from the car, I have always found the tc a tad on the quite side. at both idle and cruising,
