Seriously tho you TC guys have clearence issuse due to the caliper don't you? Have you found 17 inch wheels that'll work? If so then yeah you can stick slicks on them and you should be just fine. Slicks come in all sizes just like regular tires, you'll be fine so long as you have wheels for em.

Here's a site that does a comparison and gives the tire differences too.

I think drad radials will be the only things that'll fit on 17s...I think for true slicks you'll need to do a brake swap and get 16s then run motorcycle slicks.

DRs (Drag Radial) are street legal and have tread. Slicks are not.

and a drag radial is a radial tire which means they have stiffer sidewalls and a radial design. slicks usually ar bias ply and will wrinkle the sidewalls= better launch and 60 ft times. M & H has a 275-45-18 out def. wont clear your lowered car but their 275-50-17 might work

I am looking at M/T et drag radials in i think 205-40-17

they will prob hook pretty well, as they are very very close to a slick.

looks like a slick with a few grooves in it to me!

My plan this winter (while doing the clutch) is to dump the Brembos and put whatever the smallest rotor/caliper combo I can on. I'll keep the Brembos in the attic in a box. I pretty much only drag race anyway.

Would really like to run a 15" wheel + slick. I just don't see the point in a 17" "slick" .... just cant get the sidewall I want on a 17 really.

Who woulda thought nice brakes would be our enemy.
