1LSJ2NV's Build
1LSJ2NV's Build
Ok figured might as well get it started....been brainstorming for a while about where I want to go with the car and heres my plans
First of all whats on the car now:

Current tune: M-Dub HPtuned 22psi
Hahn CAI
Injen hot side charge piping
Hahn Front Mount Intercooler
AEM Meth kit
Dejon Catless Down Pipe
hawk hps pads
Nitto 555s
Dyno: 308 HP, 324 TQ

Ok now so far heres what i have planned:
1. Stance Coilovers
2. Borg-Warner EFR 6758 or 6258 undecided
3. Drag Radials=unknown
4. Street sport rollcage or Powell raceshop harness bar Autopower Industries - Price List
I honestly dont know whats the best route to take with valve springs and anything internal wise so input would be helpfull there.

Seems like your numbers right now should be higher... no matter though. As far as valve springs go I would follow ZZP's lead... When you get close to 8K rpms you need heavier springs to close the valves fast enough. Internals are pretty beastly stock. What power levels are you shooting for? Are you still planning to daily drive this thing? Cuz if you are I would say to look into stuff to save your trans like better mounts.

ur not sure if u wanna get valvesprigns or what ones to get? Cause u should definitly get em. And if ur looking for radials for the track, find some SS/NA wheels, theyll clear the brembo's by a c**t hair but theyll be better for find a nice set of tires for
were gonna have to go junkyard shopping one of these days lol for the rims ofcourse haha
Going bigger turbo, I'd def. build the motor
Even if our motors are good @ 450whp I still like the motor to be a bit stronger to handle the added boost and bigger turbo
Just my .02
Good luck to you

looking good bro, i got alot of plans for my sedan also, i cant make up my mind whether i want to make it fast in a straight line or make it an autocross beast, so once i figure that out i will revise my parts list! LNF FTW!!!
I recommend the EFR 6758, thats what Im going with when I get the money! The 6258 I dont think will get 450 very easily, from my research anyways. But others may say different, idk just my opinion.
Most of the people that say this have worked with motors that come without a forged lower end. Most of the V-8s and V-6s I have worked with in the past (my own cars) do not have a forged rotating assembly. Upgrading that is a must. However because our LNFs and LSJs have this already, that is something that can be kept stock. Even at 450whp on the stock lower end you would still be safe, ZZP finally bent a stock connecting rod at like 520whp if I recall correctly.
By adding a bigger turbo you are not necessarily adding more boost. You are making the engine more efficient which leads to more power going to the wheels. Now, obviously you can add more boost, why wouldn't you if you are getting a bigger turbo. But people have run up to 30psi on a stock block and lower end(even a few have on a stock turbo).
Like I said just stuff to discuss. I just think that upgrading the trans is more important. Given the history of how strong the lower end of the motor is vs. how strong the trans is, and how it has held up to big power motors, easy decision in my opinion.
Valves are needed though when you get about 7,000 RPM in this motor I think. But ZZP would know more about that. Since the sell them and they run them in their own cars.
I think next month or so... I am going to be looking into a stage 2 myself... I like to have things built to take more punishment than I should be able to throw at it. I am looking at turbo swapping as well... Stage 2 BNR 2871 and running 50/50 ethanol and 91 octane... I should hopefully be like 420whp... well that is my goal anyways we shall see if I can get there... stage 2 should be just fine for the trans
