Hello everybody! I am new to the site and wanted to share the 2.1L build that my buddy and I are doing for his car. He's mostly interested in more of a road course style build. He is running a 7163 and wanted more down low torque for coming out of the corners. He's bringing the car to my shop on Thursday so I will update this post with tons of pics after the car has arrived and he starts bringing the parts in.

Hopefully you can get the 7163 to come on quicker. Surprised if he is running road course that he isn't on a 6258 or 6758.

 

Thanks! Well I have him ramped a fair amount too so we could have just tuned it more aggressively but our plans over the winter just kinda got out of control. I believe he didn't know it was going to turn into a track car when he bought the 71. He will go to 1/2 mike events and the local weekend hangouts so it isnt just a track car.

 

Lol that usually the way it goes, but interested in the results for sure

Agreed. I run the 6758 for road course and wish I had the 6258. I'd be so bold as to say that the 7163 is useless for track. The 6758 already has way too much power for a FWD car to be effective on track.

He took it autoX and almost lost to his GFs stock Honda thing. He does a lot of other stuff too. Just really enjoys the track.

The car is at my shop we just need to grab a block and start tearing his car apart. We prob wont br doing too much this month. But it will be running for spring

Engine is out! (Old pic) We are getting a LE5 Saturday.

 

Well we grabbed the LE5 finally. The engine pull went way easier than I had thought it would. I also posted a pic of the cast LE5 crank vs the forged LNF unit.

 

So youre going to use a gen2 LE5 block as the basis for this build? Whats the end power goal?
