2012 Buick Regal GS Turbo
Has anybody driven the 2012 Buick Regal GS Turbo yet? The "Turbo GS" model comes with a 6 speed. I sat in it at the DC Auto Show and they seem like a nice mid-sized car. Their LNF motors are tuned to 270 hp and 295 lb. tq..
Too bad they're FWD, because the LNF would be a great platform for a new Grand National.

I drove one and was horribly dissapointed.
I've heard that the auto actually feels faster than the manual... but with the great bulk of that car it ends up feeling (and is) slower than a Cobalt SS.
Basically, the 6-speed manual sucks. Getting from 1st to 2nd quickly is really hard to do and the car in general lacks any sort of mid-range power. So they took a great engine and totally ruined it.
Other than that the car is great! Good looking, comfortable.. handles allright. Oh and the center stack is a giant mash of buttons. Hard to use.

Honestly if the only thing you didnt like about it was the transmission couldnt you swap it out? But honestly i havent driven it, but it looks fantastic. But if GM is wanting to make Buick for younger buyers they need to bring over cars other than the Insignia. IMO if they brought the Astra over and actually marketed it properly itd do well. Especially the VXR ANYWAY...like i said it looks great and i think as a midsize car it will be a great car. Not as a sporty car but as an all around package.

I was thinking about purchasing a slightly used version in a year or so, once I pay off my Cobalt. It's more practical to have a 4-door sedan around once you're on the better side of 30.
