My message to OP, owning a near-500whp LNF myself is this:
What are your goals?
Making 500whp on a dyno is not a goal IMO.
What are you going to do with that power?
Are you looking to run 11's in the quarter, auto-x, road track, or just impress your buddies with highway pulls?
Granted that the engine build wouldn't vastly differ from one to the other, you will need to also budget some serious money to bring that power to the ground. And that involves quite a different setup based on what you will be using the car for.
Edit
Also, I wouldn't consider an LNF a sleeper. Most car guys know by now not to underestimate a Cobalt SS Turbo. If you want a true sleeper, consider buying a 2.4 base model and turbo that. Leave the steelies on and everything

Thanks for the advice to those who gave any and I will be talking with zzp to get the project going and once I reach my first goal I'll put up pics but after I get 500hp I want to add a 100 hp shot of nitrous with the tank hidden with hidden activation switch then it will be fully complete the way I want
As far as the body I'm only changing rims, hood, head, tail & fog lights
On the inside of things new front and passenger seats with a rear seat delete plus upgrade sound system with nav.

Ya most lnf owners dont recommend nitrous, dont remember why, id say rather spray meth
It had to do with what was available from hptuners at the time iirc. I haven't setup a car for nitrous, but it's certainly do-able just takes a decent amount of work to do it correctly so you dont destroy things.
I thought most LNF owners didn't spray because either the extra torque added will either wreck the transmission or the rods. I know you can have it come in up top and by either load or boost % and rpm.

And why in TF do you want nitrous? Is this a serious thread?

Op- are you sure you are gonna need 500whp? Have you ever driven a 400whp fwd car? Even 400whp is pretty stout for front wheel drive. You maybe satisfied with that. Lots less to build. I hope you have deep pockets for really good tires, and lots of them. I would think 500whp would be a lot to handle on a road course. Colodude can attest to that.
let's get this straight
I want it to be 500hp with a 100hp shot of nos on top of the 500 to be used on time I will be drag racing and I am aware its alot of power that's the fn points I went all out with my 83 mustang my 97 jetta and my 03 focus svt why would I do any less for my cobalt ss and can we pleas keep on topic of the goal instead of mocking or credisizing my goal thank you

You may have tons of experience with Fords and Jettas but they are not Cobalts. The people that commented in this thread have a wealth of practical knowledge and experience to offer on what works and what doesn't with our cars. We are not criticizing (correct spelling) you; we are offering valuable information that some of us learned as expensive lessons. Many of us have owned our Cobalts for 5 years or more and have done multiple builds.
If you are too arrogant to listen to the advice we have to offer, just go ahead and build your car they way YOU think you should and don't come in here asking for any advice at all.
