I was gonna ask, but I KNEW I was well above 90 at one point and he must have had that info somehow. He may have been parked off on right side and then nailed me while I zoomed by? I've learned to say as little as possible and not to wine or **** and moan.
He cut me a LOT of slack..lower speed...no exhaust infraction..no hastle on not having front lic plate.

You can fight it via mail. Just write to the court. there is a few threads on here. You shouldn't get a ticket if you do it right.

You have to ask for a hearing..I've done it before and beat some... Usually when the officer doesn't show. This wasn't even close...I was caught *red handed* going close to 100.
Sure, I could request a hearing...I'll just pay it and take traffic school this time. If my driving record was in jeopardy (too many tickets), I would fight it. Just too much of a hastle this time, especially when it was so clear cut.

No I mean like you contest the ticket via a letter. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. In the letter you say that you want a hearing if the case is not thrown out by the mail contesting of the ticket... Let me see if I can find the thread, stand by.

Edit: Here you go CLICK ME

I'm not sure if it will work in this particular scenario but it could be worth a shot.

Appreciate the help. I just don't see this happening for me. It's best used when there can be some *doubt* or reasoning. My situation was a no brainer...I was speeding well in excess of 65. What am I gonna say...*officer was flat out wrong here* I was driving 65?
Do you (or anyone else for that matter) know of a single case where this strategy (Trial by declaration) was used sucessfully?

Yep. Its not what the law says, its what you can prove. If you can prove that he could have radared another vehicle, that his equipment was faulty, the gun hadn't been calibrated, or he hadn't been properly trained then you win. Take a shot, the worst that could happen is you would still have to pay for traffic school, the best is that the officer doesn't bother sifting through the reems of paperwork of his computer or files, and you get off scott free. You have absolutely nothing to lose. Drug dealers, rapists, thiefs and murderers slip through the cracks all the time... don't feel bad about trying it for having a little fun with a heavy right foot.

That's EXACTLY the point I'm making here....Tell me HOW I'm gonna do that.
Sorry..there's no way I'm going to be able to fight this. The only possible way out is to ask for a hearing and *hope* he doesn't show...if he does I'm screwed. So I'll just take my medicine this time around. Like I said, if I had to *protect* my driving record (too may tickets) I would go to court.

60-120 in 9-10 seconds is not going to happen in a 2.5L X type without a turbo or nitrous. a 2005 mustang GT takes 8.4 seconds to do 60-100. A stock LNF cobalt takes ~8.6 seconds to do 60-100. 60-120 takes quite a bit longer than 60-100 due to lots more airdrag as you go faster than 100 MPH.

5.1 seconds 60-100 was your fastest time on 91 octane. The fastest i have run is 4.3 seconds 60-100.

never did a 60-100 in my cobalt but my vette did it in 3.4 seconds. i guess on 30psi the cobalt might run a low 4 second 60-100.

He was so far back, that I could barely make out his light on the roof. I kept an eye on him and sure enough, he slowly pulled up behind me..****.
I was really concerned about the COMMUTER lane violation ($700?) but he *only* sited me for speeding. Asked how fast I thought I was going...said 80ish..he said over 90. Said he could hear the the turbo SCREAMING!! Glad I just put the silencer on yesterday because he said some guys will bust you for exhaust. I don't know HOW in hell he clocked me....I was very careful to look around at first.
Anyway he was cool..sites me for 80 and then commented on the nice car and even asked me how much I paid for it! I think I can use traffic school (I hope) to take care of it.

OH...I did the run in 6.3..slightly slower with the silencer on. You guys doing 5.5 are really flying. Is that from a data log? Mine was with a stop watch and I *hear* that method records slower times than the data log due to speedo lag.
He probably nailed you by laser. That's my guess.
