It should be in the 4.5-4.8 second range 60-100. 60-120 takes a shift so little more variable there which is why I normally use 60-100. That and over 100 starts getting dangerous on public roads IMHO.

Yeah..I just posted here that I just got a ticket doing the ricer run 60-100. I was very diligent to look around for Patrol...yeah right.. He sited me for 80..said I was well over 90.
BTW..I clock my car on a stop watch. *I Am Broke* says the speedo is retarted and has a *delayed read*..meaning I actually hit 100 earlier that what the speedo shows. This could mean I'm several tenths *faster* on the data logger? I timed C Miller on that video of his claiming 3.7ish and I clocked the video at 4.1-4.3..several times (never under 4.1).
So, what's your take on this?

Also when you watch the video watch the speedo compaired to when I hit the gas. You can here the car go wot and the speedo is already lagging.

You're ride has to be at least 400 WHP to run like that

No way I would ricer roll past 100 on a public road.
I used to do this 60-90 which is just as reliable...think I'll go back to that if/when I need to test it. As far as the track..isn't practicle...period. I have raced a lot of tracks out here in Cali..so *don't go there*..thank you.

And ZZP did make over 500 on this set up. So what's your point? I would expect it to be over 400

I don't think that what we use as a motor fuel could be considered gas... Its more like flamable water.

sorry to bring this thread back but its funny since i just tested my speeds. i did 60-130 in 13 seconds measured with a dragy. that was starting in 3rd AT 60 and flooring it, not fully reving 3rd and granny shifting into 4th. no nlts.

feels slow for a 7163. i have no idea how much hp im making but its at 24 psi.

If you're comparing it to the Bentley Supersport's time in OP's post... remember that the Bentley is a 5000 lbs car. A Cobalt only needs like 370 hp to match that power to weight.

Most people don't start at 60 while doing their 60-130 runs. They start at whatever speed allows them the most traction.

Try starting in 2nd gear and NLS 2-3 and 3-4, if you truly want the fastest time. Same for 60-100 runs. People start at "around" 60mph and run out 3rd to 100mph.

i started at like 56 according to the dragy. wouldnt starting earlier give you a totally different time vs starting at 60? i would think starting FROM 60 would give you the most accurate time no? i definitely agree that i should try some nlts and i plan on it on my next run. my 13 sec run was starting from 60 in 3rd, lagging till the turbo hit, not fully reving 3rd and granny shifting into 4th and topping it out at like 136 or so. keep in mind that it is also an lsj 4.05 swap. hopefully if i drive it right i can get it into the 10s lol

Never did 60-130 but my old cobalt used to do 60-100 in just under 4 seconds.

also gotta think how they are running these 60-130 runs.... are they starting from 0 and going straight thought to 130, just recording the 60-130 time? or are they setting cruise or holding at 60 then going flat foot to 130. I would think if you start lower and keep it pressed through 60 to 130 it's going to be faster than holding at 60 and going to 130. I feel like passing through 60 you will already have momentum vs starting at 60, especially for turbo cars, you would already be spooled and picking up speed.

If anyone has HPT you can datalog and figure it out pretty easily too.

I don't have any runs datalogged with my HPT that went to 130, I do have a video of my speedo from a while back I went from 40 to 110 in about 10 seconds. If I was home, I think I could get close to 10 form 60 to 130. My 40 to 110 was before the k04R, when I dyno'd 300whp, I'm pushing more power now and about the same tq. I like to think I can be around 10 seconds from 60 to 130.

This. I data logged 0-60 a long time ago and came up with a 4.2 (at 5,400 feet). That is running at EXACTLY 60mph in 3rd gear and THEN gunning it. That's when turbo lag becomes painfully obvious. Still, I looked up impressive cars for comparison at the time and found that the Audi R8 V10 needs 4.8 seconds at sea level so I felt pretty good

I don't think I ever did a timed 60-130. Once my car comes back from the shop and I finish my break-in, I shall give that a try

that is EXACTLY what im saying. i think its cheating if youre flying by the time you hit 60 then record your time. that should only count for 0-130. if you wanna know what your 60-130 time is you have to start at 60.
